How to Calculate Your Heart Rate
It's not hard to calculate your heart rate, and with the aid of simple
math, you shouldn't run into trouble.
1Set countdown clock to 10 seconds or have your partner count silently to
10 seconds when you are ready.<
2When the timer starts or your partner starts counting, count how many
heartbeats you hear or feel.
3Multiply your number by 6.
4This is your resting heart rate.
5Walking is a form of low impact cardio.If you would like to take it a
step further do some low impact cardio.
6Repeat steps 2 and 3. This is yourlow impact heart rate.
7Add this number to your resting heart rate and divide by two.
8This is your low impact average.
9Jump roping is a form of high impact cardio.If you would like to take it
even further, do some high impact cardio.
10Repeat steps 2 and 3. This is yourhigh impact heart rate.
11Add your high impact heart rate and your resting heart rate and divide
by 2. This is yourhigh impact average.
12Take you low impact heart rate, your resting heart rate, and your high
impact heart rate and add them up and divide by three. This is yourtotal
average heart rate.<
You can also count 6 seconds and multiply by 10.
You can count after a training session if you have one.
If your doctor doesn't recommend a high impact exercise, don't do it.
