What is SGA?
SGA (Student Government Association) works closely with the clubs, classes, and organizations to make sure that student life runs smoothly. SGA is comprised of all the clubs, classes, and organizations, as well as elected student officials to represent the student body. SGA consists of:

What is the Executive Board?
The Executive Board handles the day to day operations of student life. The Executive Board runs the monthly General Assembly meetings and hold weekly office hours in order to be accessible to the students. It consists of members elected by the entire student body who act as the liaisons between the students and the faculty and administration. The office term runs from January to December. The Board consists of: • The President • The Vice President • The Executive Treasurer • The Executive Secretary • The Executive Chief Justice

What are the class governments?
The class governments handle anything having to do with their class. It consists of members elected by their respective class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior). The class governments create events to raise class pride and fundraisers that will help fund Senior Week. The office term runs from September to May. The Class Governments consist of: • The Class President • The Class Vice President • The Class Treasurer • The Class Secretary

What are the General Assembly Meetings?
The General Assembly meetings are held monthly and are open to the whole student body. This meeting is the place where the Executive Board reports to the General Assembly, the clubs, classes, and organizations report to the Executive Board, and students are able to voice their issues and concerns.

What events does SGA host?
Outside of the General Assembly meetings, SGA hosts numerous events throughout the school year. The first event of the year is the Clubs and Organizations Fair. Also, toward the end of the fall semester, SGA hosts the Winter Semi-Formal, ever growing in popularity. In the spring semester, SGA hosts the SGA Inauguration Ceremony and the Awards Ceremony. The SIDS Walk, Relay for Life and SADD Conference are all events supported by SGA.

What is the Presidents Forum?
The Presidents Forum is a chance for the campus leaders of classes, clubs, and organizations to meet and discuss the activities of their groups. This is a great opportunity for all of these groups on campus to unite and create joint events, discuss common struggles, and share their successes.

Organizations
• Campus Activities Board
Comprised of students who plan and run various events on campus. Events include: Date Auction, Car Show, Sneaker Expo, NYC Trips, Pumpkin Decorating, Easter Egg Coloring, parties, and so much more.

Our local student run radio station. Students volunteer to DJ a show for a certain time block and can broadcast whatever interests them from music to sports talk radio.

• Spartan Volunteers
Students can participate in Midnight Runs, Habitat for Humanity, United Nations Visits, Dowling Garden Programming, ESL One-to-One Learning, Millennium Goals, Heifer Program, Nets for Nets, Benefit Dinner, and so much more. • Campus Ministry Students can participate in Prayer Services, Preaching Conferences, Weekend Mass, Retreats and Music Ministry.

• Art Therapy Club
A club providing opportunities for students to meet, share information, and plan events related to art therapy. Club members also interact with professionals and learn from their clinical presentations. • Biology Club Where students make biology fun and interesting by performing experiments, going on trips, and watching movies.

• Psychology Club
A club of experienced psychology majors or anyone interested in psychology. This club strives to increase knowledge about psychology within the college community. • National Broadcasting Society Students who are interested in joining in a national professional communications organization may join this club. Membership in this society allows a student access to regional and national conventions, scholarships, national competitions and the opportunity to network with communications professionals.

• Thoma
The student newspaper. Students interested in writing articles, editing, and enhancing layout produce bimonthly editions. • Thomist Students collect memories all year long to organize the St. Thomas Aquinas yearbook. • Voyager This literary magazine collects various works written or works drawn from students.

Special Interest Groups
• Gay-Straight Alliance
GSA is a club that promotes tolerance and understanding of GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) people and issues. Its goal is education, awareness, and advocacy. • Culture Shock Club Students dedicate themselves to promoting cultural awareness and celebrate diversity. • Sci-Fi Club Students who are interested in movies, video games, and comic books come together to share their common interests.

Sports Clubs
• Equestrian Club
Students are taken Horseback Riding. • Cheer Leading This team of students prepares routines to increase school spirit at our basketball games and competitions. • Ski Club Ski lift tickets, transportation to a mountain, ski or snowboard rentals and lessons are all provided for an affordable price. • Bowling Club Students have fun at Pearl River Lanes spending pocket change for multiple games of bowling and shoe rentals. Just about every other Friday night, students can bowl till they drop. • Hockey Team • Sports Management Club

Performing Arts Clubs
• STAC Singers
Students perform in this intimate group of singers on various works of music for concerts throughout the year. • Laetare Players Students audition, rehearse and perform in the fall drama (comedy, murder mystery, etc.), the spring musical, and smaller productions throughout the year. • STAC Dancers Our dance team practices routines for the basketball games.

Where can you find the Executive Board?
The SGA Office is located in the Romano Student Alumni Center. We are on the lower level by the pool tables. Our office hours are posted outside the door on the bulletin board where the Student Activities Calendar is posted. If you need anything, come and see us. We are your advocates!
