on the campus of Illinois State University and in the community of Bloomington-Normal, IL! August 7-11, 2008
Don’t miss this amazing event filled with fun, a connection to China through sports events, arts, crafts, music, dance, and seminars on Chinese culture. Fun for the entire family, fun for ALL ages! Bring the babies in strollers, the toddlers in carriers, the big kids and the teens! Bring Grandmom and Grandpop! There will be something for everyone!

Arrive August 7th in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois (Thursday) for afternoon Parade of Chinese Provinces from Illinois Wesleyan campus stadium to Illinois State University Quad. All children and parents will be provided a t-shirt/ color for their province (or their sibling’s province) in China with banners like at the Olympics! Following the Parade there will be a Mega-Picnic. Optional tickets to the evening performance of Gamma Phi Acrobatic Circus* in Horton Field House. Official Beijing 2008 Olympics shopping at OCDF Marketplace throughout the weekend! August 8th (Friday) Live satellite feed of the Beijing 2008 Opening Ceremonies projected onto large screen at Braden Auditorium (seats 3,400 people!). Sports events in teams for children, select from 6 hands-on Arts & Crafts, select from special Chinese Music, Dance & Games programs, choice of 10 seminars on Chinese Culture! Olympic events on TV 24 hours a day! Provincial meetings in the evening! Swim parties at the various hotels! August 9th (Saturday) Sports events in teams for children, select from 6 hands-on Arts & Crafts, select from special Chinese Music, Dance & Games programs, choice of 10 seminars on Chinese Culture! August 10th (Sunday) Sports events in teams for children, select from 6 hands-on Arts & Crafts, select from special Chinese Music, Dance & Games programs, choice of 10 seminars on Chinese Culture! Olympic events on TV 24 hours a day! Provincial meetings in the evening! Evening awards and medal ceremony at Braden Auditorium honoring sports teams from Friday thru Sunday. *Gamma Phi Circus of Illinois State University is the oldest campus acrobatic circus in the county (founded in 1929). Students from elementary grades through college participate in this program at ISU.
