					                               Bank of America Secure Messaging
                                  Quick Reference Guide for External Partners
The Secure Messaging Quick Reference Guide provides step-by-step instructions regarding the account activation process and
use of secure messaging. These instructions are intended to be platform independent but have been created using the
Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer (IE) web browser.

These instructions have been created using the Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer (IE) Web browser but can be used for any
version of internet browser on your computer. If you are using a different computer system, such as an Apple Mac, the screens
may look slightly different. An example of the Apple Mac browser window can be seen on page 2 in the section on “Receiving a
Secure Message”. Regardless of the type of computer or browser software you are using, the functions of the secure messaging
tool will work the same.

Registering for Secure Messaging:
Bank of America will initiate the process by pre-registering you for the secure messaging service. You will receive a system
generated e-mail entitled “Bank of America: Welcome to Secure Messaging” from the Secure Messaging Team at Bank of
America. The e-mail will contain a link to the Bank of America Self Registration Tool (SRT) website. The e-mail is time-sensitive
and will expire 7 days after receipt. Any questions should be directed to the Bank of America Support Contact listed in the e-
mail.




                                            Activation E-mail:

                                                1.   Receive the activation e-mail
                                                2.   Click on the first hyperlink in the e-mail to initiate the account
                                                     activation process
                                                3.   Do not use the link at the bottom of the e-mail to register your account




                                            Set up your Password:

                                                1.   The link in the activation e-mail opens the Self Registration Tool (SRT)
                                                2.   Your User ID will have been assigned to you automatically, and will be
                                                     listed at the top of this page
                                                3.   Make a note of this ID for future use
                                                4.   Choose a Password that you will use for Secure Messaging following
                                                     the password rules displayed on the page




                                            Set up Challenge Questions & Answers:

                                                1.   Challenge questions and answers are used to verify your identity if
                                                     you forget your Password and need to reset it yourself.
                                                2.   Choose six questions and six answers using the following rules:
                                                          a. Choose six unique questions from the list of over 30 provided
                                                          b. The minimum length for any answer is 2 characters
                                                          c. Each answer must be unique. You cannot use an answer that
                                                              has been used for one of the other questions
                                                3.   Click Save to complete the activation process




Secure Messaging QRG for External Users
                                          Activation Complete:

                                              1.   You will see a screen that confirms that your account is fully activated
                                                   and ready for use.




                                          Confirmation E-mail:

                                              1.   Your confirmation e-mail is entitled: Bank of America - Secure
                                                   Messaging Account Activation
                                              2.   It will be from: The Secure Messaging Team
                                              3.   This e-mail includes important information on managing your account
                                                   using the Self Registration Tool (SRT)




                                          Receiving a Secure Message:

                                              1.   You will receive the secure message in your inbox
                                              2.   Open the e-mail to view the contents
                                              3.   The secure message will appear as an attachment to your e-mail
                                              4.   By default the secure message attachment will be called
                                                   “CourierATT.html”
                                              5.   Double click on the CourierATT.html attachment to open the secure e-
                                                   mail message

                                          Note: The example on the left shows the Apple Mac browser window


                                          Authentication in to the Secure Message:

                                              1.   After clicking the attachment, a new secure browser window will open
                                              2.   Type in the User Name and Password that you set up during the
                                                   registration process
                                              3.   Click on the Authenticate button

                                          Remember: Your User Name (ID) and Password are case sensitive!



                                          Reading the Secure Message:

                                              1.   The message opens in a secure browser window
                                              2.   Any attachments are shown at the bottom of the message and can be
                                                   opened in their native format by clicking on them
                                              3.   The entire secure message can be saved to a local drive if needed
                                              4.   Authentication credentials will time out after 10 minutes from the time
                                                   you first signed in
                                              5.   During this 10 minute period you can open any portion of a secure
                                                   message without having to authenticate again.




Secure Messaging QRG for External Users
                                          Sending a Secure Reply:

                                          Secure Reply allows the external user to securely send an e-mail message and
                                          any attachments only to the original associate who created the message.

                                              1.   Click on the Secure Reply button
                                              2.   Check the CC box if you would like a copy of your reply sent to you
                                                   Inbox
                                              3.   Type your reply in the text box
                                              4.   Use the Browse button to select files for attachment
                                                        a. Maximum of 8 attachments
                                                        b. Maximum total file size of 14MB
                                                        c. Click the Upload File button to add the attachments.
                                              5.   Click the Send Secure Reply button


                                          Sending a Secure Reply to All:

                                          Secure Reply All allows external users to reply to everyone included on the
                                          original message. Users can also add any other registered Sigaba user to the
                                          CC list but, if they try to add a user who is not a registered Sigaba user, they
                                          will see a warning message.

                                              1.   Click on the Secure Reply All button
                                              2.   You can add any other registered Sigaba user to the CC list but, if you
                                                   try to add a user that is not registered, you will see a pop up warning
                                                   message
                                              3.   Check the CC box if you would like a copy of your reply sent to you
                                                   inbox
                                              4.   Type your reply in the text box
                                              5.   Use the Browse button to select files for attachment
                                                         a. Maximum of 8 attachments
                                                         b. Maximum total file size of 14MB
                                                         c. Click the Upload File button to add the attachments
                                              6.   Click the Secure Reply All button



                                          Secure Message Confirmation:

                                              1.   A confirmation window will display, notifying you that the message has
                                                   been sent via secure e-mail
                                              2.   This completes the Secure Reply process
