Mr. Barge / Web Design 1 Layout Design Using Adobe Photoshop CS3 for the Web Dear Students and Parents, Welcome to Web Design 1 at Miami Springs Senior High. In addition to teaching the basic curriculum of Web design, we plan to involve students in contests and exhibits, and help them explore scholarship and career opportunities. With detailed attention to artistic and technical features alike, Web design 1 provides a solid foundation for those looking to learn an application that makes use of the Internet to deliver information. Real-world practical examples and step-by-step instruction throughout the school year will offer our students a well-rounded and comprehensive coverage of beginning Web design. We look forward to a productive and meaningful school year. Course Description: The main focus will be the study of Web Design as it relates to history, cultures, and commerce. In addition to increasing their skills in the use of digital and electronic media, students will correlate their projects to work done by well-known Web designs and designers. They will learn about different styles and key developments made in web design. Some lessons will be short, but many will take several days. It is important that students attend class every day so that they do not fall behind on projects. Classes will include activities in reading, note taking, planning (writing and sketching), producing original lay out work, and for advanced students, the real world management of the MSSH Website. Students will have written and performance test based on class studies. Students will also engage in critiques, which will build on their communication skills and augments their studies as well.
