Congratulations to the Year 10 Rounders Team who became Champions of Milton Keynes again. After frantic
telephone calls home due to the students being on work experience, the team was recalled and repeated their
fantastic success from last year.

The team managed to beat Denbigh, Shenley Brook End and Leon to get through to the semi finals where they
met Bury Lawn. The girls were superb in all of these games, their hitting was excellent and fielding top class.

The team then progressed to the final where they again met Leon School. It must have been nerves as the
girls only needed four rounders to win but scored nothing from the first five balls (only fifteen good balls are
allowed), however as soon as one rounder was scored the girls got back into their routine and eventually won
with three balls to spare.

The fact they won this tournament was even more brilliant because the team had not even had a practice
match!

My own player of the tournament went to Praveena Ramesh for her superb hitting and fielding skills. She was
consistent in every game and made a real difference. Well done to the team.

The squad: Amy Gould (Capt), Georgia Dunn, Praveena Ramesh, Sophie Wooldridge, Vicky Holland, Bryony
Coles, Hope Coles, Danika Jackson, Hollie Ashlie
