         Daniel 2:12-23
14 When Arioch, the commander of
 the king's guard, had gone out to put
 to death the wise men of Babylon,
 Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and
 tact. 15 He asked the king's officer,
 "Why did the king issue such a harsh
 decree?" Arioch then explained the
 matter to Daniel. 16 At this, Daniel
 went in to the king and asked for
 time, so that he might interpret the
 dream for him.

DA 2:17 Then Daniel returned to his house
 and explained the matter to his friends
 Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He
 urged them to plead for mercy from the
 God of heaven concerning this mystery, so
 that he and his friends might not be
 executed with the rest of the wise men of
 Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery
 was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then
 Daniel praised the God of heaven
How many of you have been
  through a rough time?
               Depressed?
Frightened?
                 of
        All at that time?
How did you feel
                    Drained?



          the Frustrated?
 Lonely?            Hopeless?
     above?
     Angry?
How many of your rough times
  included the slaughter of
 yourselves and your closest
          friends?
If Daniel’s “rough time” was so
much rougher than my “rough
 time”, why didn’t he react the
    way I do, only more so?

       Daniel 2:12-23

20 and said:
 "Praise be to the name of God
 for ever and ever;
  wisdom and power are his.

  and knowledge to the discerning.

You have given me wisdom and power,

 about your life, what you will eat or
 drink; or about your body, what you
 will wear. Is not life more important
 than food, and the body more
 important than clothes?

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do
 not sow or reap or store away in
 barns, and yet your heavenly Father
 feeds them. Are you not much more
 valuable than they? 27 Who of you
 by worrying can add a single hour to
 his life?

28 "And why do you worry about
 clothes? See how the lilies of the
 field grow. They do not labor or spin.
 29 Yet I tell you that not even
 Solomon in all his splendor was
 dressed like one of these. 30 If that
 is how God clothes the grass of the
 field, which is here today and
 tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will
 he not much more clothe you, O you
 of little faith?

31 So do not worry, saying, `What
 shall we eat?' or `What shall we
 drink?' or `What shall we wear?' 32
 For the pagans run after all these
 things, and your heavenly Father
 knows that you need them. 33 But
 seek first his kingdom and his

Hardship Is
