Miss the Burj Khalifa - Lose the
Essence of a Dubai City Tour!

The Sears Tower, The Petronas Towers, Taipei World Financial Center, Burj
Khalifa, do you know what is common between them? Well, they all were once
the tallest buildings in the world. Today, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates stands at over 2,700ft making it the tallest man-made structure in the
world. A Dubai tour without visiting this magnificent skyscraper is a complete
waste. The architecture and engineering of this enormous structure was carried
out by international connoisseurs Skidmore, Owings and Merril of Chicago. The
chief architect of Burj Khalifa was Adrian Smith. It is situated in the heart of
Dubai and is bounded by five star hotels, breathtaking shopping malls and a
broad variety of entertainment options.

An otherwise oil-predominant economy, Dubai’s city tours have attracted
millions of tourists to come shop, go sightseeing, or simply indulge in its
luxuries. In fact, Burj Khalifa alone is made up of swanky residential
apartments, the plush Armani Hotel, four magnificent pools, bravura office
spaces. In addition to, an elite residents' lounge together with an elite cigar club
and modern fitness amenities for its residents. It was named in tribute to the
project's top supporters and the actual president of the United Arab Emirates
and king of Abu Dhabi, Khalifa bin Sayed Al Nahyan. The prime goal was to
avert the emirate’s image from an insolvent oil-producing country to a tourist
Mecca bringing in the necessary income.

Some of the features that make Burj Khalifa stand out are as follows:

 $1.5 billion were invested for its construction
 It is the tallest structure at over 2,700ft
    A skyscraper that has 160 floors
 Highest and fastest double-decker elevators mechanism at the top of the
      tower *a speed of 64 km/h (40 mph) or 18 m/s (59 ft/s)*
 It comprises of 57 elevators and 8 escalators
 Highest mosque on 158th floor
 Highest outdoor observation deck at 124th floor, nightclub on the 144th
floor, highest pool at the 76th floor, and restaurant on the 122nd floor
      (1,450ft)
 To confront Dubai's heat, the exterior portico contains 22,000 cladding
panels made of a reflective glazing, ingrained with several stainless steel
tubular upright fins and aluminium as well as textured stainless steel
      spandrel panels
 It has the world's most expensive and highest new year eve’s festivity and
      firework display

The world’s tallest building is just the beginning of many things from one of the
fastest growing countries in the Middle East. Let us hope the country continues
to grow, develop and inspire other countries of the world.
