Project Profile:

    The M.Sc., Project Work (3 months) entitled on Characterization of
       Hexavalent Chromium Resistant Enriched Consortium - Exhibiting Chromate
       Reduction and Metal Absorption, was done in CENTRAL LEATHER
       RESEARCH INSTITUTE, in Adyar.
       Summary:
    The tannery effluent was collected and the bacterial strains were isolated and
       characterized.   Minimum inhibitory concentration of chromium by broth
       dilution method & Antibiotics resistance assay by disc diffusion method of
       Pseudomonas Sps. was done and metal absorption studies were done.
       Reduction of Hexavalent Chromium by Pseudomonas Sps. was done. 50% of
       the chromium was reduced by the Pseudomonas Sps.
