Cover Letter Attention: Seeking: Human Resources Dept. A full-time employment opportunity March, 2009
Please consider my attached resume very carefully. What I hope is obvious is that I bring a wealth of diverse, practical, highly technical, and real-life business experience to the table. This includes sales, marketing, management, customer field service, and support. If you give me the chance, you will find I will become an indispensable asset to your organization and, I promise, you will enjoy my creative addition to your team. MY GOALS: I’m looking for full-time employment, either professional or blue collar, in a vibrant environment where my true skills can flourish as part of a creative, energetic team. I’m especially looking forward to learning something entirely new; to working in a new (for me) different career environment where we’re creating something as part of a professional team. I’ve run my own business so I understand profit-oriented teamwork, but I will not work commission-only. I’ve been there; done that for many years. If you don’t believe enough in what you have to offer to include a base pay, then I’m not interested in it at this point in my life. Otherwise I hope this cover letter content and its unorthodox presentation to you proves I will resourcefully take on any project – I’m a can-do person - tell me it can’t be done and I will prove you wrong. Additional Experience: Prior to Terminals Unlimited I worked for a company called Custom Control Sensors in Chatsworth. I started in QC, testing components to mil spec standards, but, because of my demonstrated abilities, I was quickly promoted to manager in charge of their environmental testing lab. I have a strong understanding of mechanical, electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, and I can read blue-prints. Past Accomplishments: I have owned several income properties, including an apartment building (lost in the ’94 Northridge earthquake) where I took an active part in its successful day-to-day management and maintenance. And I built my own home, acting as my own contractor. I was intimately involved in every detail of its construction. Much experience was gained in construction, the permit process, and the bureaucracy involved in obtaining a variance to build in a “forbidden” high fire zone area. (I also lost this house in the ’94 Northridge earthquake). I have held a CFL License, maintained a 4.0 GPA a few years ago at Computer Learning Centers, honored by the National Vocational Technical Honor Society, and have been a member of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce. And I have experience working with the internet, especially in ecommerce, web site specification analysis and testing, and in the field of PPC, SEO, and web site marketing and online sales. Some words that best describe me: Dedicated, enthusiastic, conscientious, hard worker, stable, career-oriented, mechanically inclined, intelligent, helpful, team player, skilled, competent, can-do, loyal, appreciative, polite, professional, marketer, negotiator, effective unsupervised or in a team environment. I am creative, mature, clean-cut, well educated, detail oriented, don’t smoke, don’t drink, a vegetarian, perfect DMV record, and as you can see, I will do whatever is necessary to get your job done. Unleash my abilities – you and your team will benefit with my input. About you: Associated with a high-caliber company or organization looking for additional help or assistance on a particular project. You know about me, please tell me more about you. Summary, Take a chance, call me for an interview before someone else does – I promise you won’t be disappointed. And please pass this cover letter and resume on to someone you know who may be able to use my skilled help. Technical and personal letters of recommendation are available on request. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Steven Phillips
