									What Kind Of Training Sessions Are Being Offered?
About the training sessions
Challenge CLC is offering an opportunity for educators to receive training in the use of multimedia covering video, sound and music, image manipulation and web 2.0 technology. It is envisaged that the training will take place mostly in school during the day or after hours as appropriate. The training will generally involve the use of CLC laptops and associated peripherals such as digital cameras and camcorders etc so schools will not have to provide any hardware of their own. It is planned that the training will be on a small group or one to one basis and take place in a suitable location within the school. Educators will be able to pick from a range of training modules which will be developed, enhanced and modified continuously. A maximum of 5 laptops can be carried at any one time. Therefore the highest number of persons attending one training session would be 10 assuming people share. Otherwise 5 or less people would the norm. Schools may wish to book multiple sessions of the same course in order to permit staff to access the training.

Teachers, support staff and all other educators in working in schools

In order that schools receive exactly the right training for them there is the intention to be flexible and offer customisation as appropriate to meet staff needs and previous experience. An example might be that a school has archive video footage which people would like to learn how to edit and get on line or there may be a set of superb photographs of a field trip which educators might want to use in a Photostory. One of the central aims of the training is to get as many educators using the ICT resources out there in order to impact on their work with the children. All of the sessions assume some basic knowledge of using computers but there is no other requirement beyond that. It is intended that support staff will wish to come forward for training too since they are most often the adults with the most flexibility in their timetables allowing them to work with youngsters on learning projects. It is hoped the training will include material which will be extremely useful for children across the entire spectrum of ability from disaffected youngsters to highly gifted and talented pupils.
