    GSO Capital

    Overview
GSO Capital Partners LP is a leading credit-oriented alternative asset manager with approximately $20.4 billion of total fee-earnings
assets under management as of June 30, 2009. GSO manages collateralized loan obligation vehicles (CLOs) and a variety of credit-
oriented funds, including senior debt funds, multi-strategy credit funds , distressed debt funds and mezzanine funds focused on the
    leveraged finance marketplace.
GSO was founded in 2005 by Bennett Goodman, Tripp Smith and Doug Ostrover. Prior to forming GSO, the founders built and ran
the Leveraged Finance businesses at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse. Under their direction, DLJ and Credit Suisse
held the leading market share in underwriting high yield securities for more than ten consecutive years. The founders were also
responsible for managing the activities of Credit Suisse’s Alternative Capital Division with over $30 billion in private equity, mezza-
nine, real estate and hedge fund assets. Today, GSO has over 155 employees with offices in New York, London, and Houston.
GSO was acquired by The Blackstone Group L.P. in March 2008, following which Blackstone’s credit investment businesses were
combined with GSO’s operations. GSO’s business will be enhanced by the many benefits of being part of Blackstone’s global invest-
ment management and financial advisory operations.

    Investment Approach
GSO seeks to generate superior risk-adjusted returns by investing in a broad array of public and private securities across multiple
investment strategies. Key areas of focus include leveraged loans, distressed investments, special situations, capital structure arbi-
trage, relative value, mezzanine securities and private equity. The investment strategy revolves around a disciplined credit review
process and is based on the belief that deep understanding of companies and the industries in which they operate is critical to gen-
erating positive total returns. GSO aims to minimize downside risk and protect principal by maintaining a diversified portfolio, per-
forming intensive credit research and actively monitoring all investments. The team’s substantial experience in leveraged finance,
coupled with its deep relationships with private equity firms, high yield issuers and others in the investment community, provides
GSO with a unique ability to source investments on a global basis. GSO has established a long track record of developing creative,
value-added solutions to address a corporation’s capital structure requirements.
