Cody McCormick, Cody McLeod, Joe Sakic, Ryan Smith, Paul Stastny, Chris Stewart, Marek Svatos, Darcy Tucker, Brian Willsie and Wojtek Wolski.
Team defensemen include Brett Clark, Kyle Cumiskey, Adam Foote, Scott Hannan, Jordan Leopold, John-Michael Liles, Ruslan Salei and Daniel
Tjarngvist. Rounding out the team are goalies Peter Budaj and Andrew Raycroft.

The 2008 draft picks for the Avalanche include Cameron Gaunce, Peter Delmas, Kelsey Tessier, Mark Olver, Joel Chouinard, Jonas Holos and
Nathan Condon. The promising players hailed from OHL Mississauga St. Michaels, QMJHL Lewiston and Quebec as well as Victoriaville, CCHA
Northern Michigan and NORWAY Sarpsborg.

Spearheading the coaching side is head coach Tony Granato. Working closely with Granato are assistant coach Jacques Cloutier, assistant coach
Dave Barr, goaltending coach Jeff Hackett, video coordinator PJ Deluca, strengthening and conditioning coach Paul Goldberg, inventory manager
Wayne Fleming, head equipment manager Mark Miller, assistant equipment manager Cliff Halstead and assistant equipment manager Kurt Harvey.
Head athletic trainer Matthew Sokolowski, assistant athletic trainer/physical therapist Scott Woodward and massage therapist Gregorio Pradera also
play very important roles.

So whats the rest of the seasons games look like for the Avalanche? In January, the Avalanche will face off against the Sharks, Maple Leafs and
Ducks on their own ice. If its away the Avalanche want, in February theyll be traveling to play away games as visitors on the ice against the Blues,
Blue Jackets, Wild, Red Wings, Capitals, Hurricanes, Thrashers, Devils and Rangers. A few home games sit on the other side of the scale when the
Avalanche will host games against the Flames, Stars, Canadiens and Senators during the month. In March there are more home games schedule for
the Avalanche as they host the Red Wings, Thrashers, Wild, Oilers, Ducks and Canucks on their own ice. Away games for March are schedule to
include trips to play against the Islanders, Blackhawks, Oilers, Canucks, Wild, Sharks and Ducks.

In April, the Coyotes, Stars, Canucks and Blues will travel to Colorado to play against the Avalanche; the latter game with the Blue closing out the
season on Sunday, April 12. The balance of the April games will be away and against the Canucks and Sharks.

The Colorado Avalanche team is current sitting in the 12th seat for the western conference with 23 wins and just as many losses and 1 OT. After the
recent loss to the Los Angeles Kings, players Kyle Cumiskey and Chris Durno were reassigned to the Lake Erie Monsters. This in addition to players
Laperriere, McCormick, Sakic, Stastny, and Foote who are all on the injured reserve list. Although the team didnt win the game against the Kings,
Wolski was named the Avalanche Play of the Week member for his goal that earned 47.44% of the fans votes.

After the All-Star break, it remains to be seen how the Avalanche will fair in the conference.
