CHAPTER ONE
Why There Really Is No Secret
For years many of us have been working towards goals that never come to
anything, or wanting to achieve something that just keeps eluding us. At first we
journey down the road called "blame" - after all it's easier to believe that someone
or thing is responsible for us not achieving what we set out to do.
Then one day comes the realization that blame achieves nothing and that looking
at how we are responsible for the results we produce in our life is a more
powerful method. And you begin to look at those who have achieved and wonder
what their "secret" must be.
If they managed to focus on and create success from a goal they set themselves,
why not you? If you want to give up smoking why can't that happen for you? If you
want to attain success in business, why can't that happen for you? If you are
looking for the partner of your dreams, why shouldn't you find yours?
There must be something you are missing, some secret, that when told you will be
able to achieve life long success and happiness! And so that search begins,
seminars are attended, books are bought and read, books are bought and not
read, self development turns into shelf development as the books increase. More
knowledge is attained, more stuff that you "know" and still another workshop,
more notes, even more promises that never actual amount to anything.
(Note: Let me just state right now, I am a lover of workshops, seminars and
books, I believe that the most successful people have one thing in common, they
all believe that investment in their learning is paramount. But there is one
difference, and you will know what that is by the end of this special report!)

For some people the search for whatever they believe the "secret" is continues for
years, thousands spent on their personal development and still life sucks!
So firstly let me end the search for you, because you will not believe this but what
you have been looking for is right before your eyes, you have been searching for
something that has been in front of you the whole time
An End To The Search
The search will end for you when you truly GET this! Not understand it, not know
it, but truly GET it deep within you. This is about to be your first light bulb moment
because the very thing you are searching for is YOU!
The very person that will ensure success shows up in your life is you, your beliefs
about what's possible, your understanding of what you truly want and your
burning desire to achieve what you want.
You hold the key to your success, and while support is important it is not the thing
that will make it happen for you.
That's right; you won't find "it" in that millionaire guru that charges you hundreds
and thousands of dollars just to speak to them. You won't find "it" in that new
book by that famous author. "It" won't even show up on the stage of the latest
seminar created to help you find what you are looking for.
All you really need to do is search within; the answer appears when you search
within.
I am sorry if that isn't exciting enough for you. I apologize if that means you don't
have to go traveling the world in search of the secret, or the answer!

Put everything away now, sit in your own personal space and ask yourself the
questions that will show you why your life is not working, how you are stopping
your own success and what you can do about it.
"The Life Which Is Unexamined Is Not Worth Living" Socrates
Now you know that you are the person who has the answer to everything you
need to know, guess who you need now. That's right.... you now need people!
Right now you're thinking is the other way, you are searching for help from
something outside of your self in the hope of delivering results in your life. Once
you really GET that you own the answers you need then, and only then, can you
look towards getting help from others.
But now that help will be different, because you are asking for support in living
your highest potential, in achieving your biggest goals, in ensuring you keep you
on track. You are not waiting for people to tell you what you must do, you are not
expecting some expert to "fix" you, or provide you with the answers.
You are now learning how to find your own answers within and when you do, you
then go in search of people who will support you in making things happen. See
the difference? If you don't then chances are you don't really GET "IT"! Re-read
this chapter until your light bulb moment cometh!
And the final thing you will need, the other thing that will ensure your life works
the way you want it to. The thing that separates those that achieve and those that

CHAPTER TWO
Do It! Your SELF Empowerment
Ultimately you are the only person who has complete access to what happens
in your life and how.
You shape you and it is important to realize that you shape you, not by what
you know, not by the knowledge you have acquired, but by the actions you
take.
In NLP we talk about people having a “map” of the world. That means that
everyone’s experiences from birth to the present day will form the way people
think, believe and behave. So if you were constantly told that the world is a
big and scary place your “map” will be different to someone who grew up to
believe that the world is their oyster.
The biggest thing that drives our map is our belief system and emotions. If
you are willing to open your mind to something different and look at a different
point of view, you then have access to changing your beliefs that may have
limited you in the past.
So your view that the world is scary as a belief may stop you from wanting to
travel the world, or take risks, or put yourself out there to love another. When
you begin to work on changing that belief then you can begin to work towards
achieving your vision.

The other major factor, your emotions, - also called your “State” in NLP – will
be the one thing that determines your success or failure; whether a goal
leaves you feeling fulfilled or dis-satisfied. Our internal drive is determined by
our emotion, and when we know what drives us internally then our goals lead
more towards fulfillment.
The fastest way to get to know what drives you is to ask yourself questions, to
coach your self in such a way that you instantly know whether you are making
a decision based upon what empowers you rather than dis-empowers you.
What challenges us as human beings?
For many people the biggest challenge is how to take their vision and make it
visible, how to ensure what they dream about, what their goals are, show up
in their life, in their reality.
The Inspirational Guidance Membership Club was set up to provide support
with that very issue. But not by doing anything for you, but by supplying
everything you will need to do it yourself! This membership club is about
D.I.Y. Empowerment!
Remember the past only equals the future if you live in the past. If you spend
your time talking about how you failed to achieve something, how things went
wrong. Why it wasn’t your fault!
You can have all the reasons and excuses you want, and some of them may
be accurate, but it doesn’t have to define you. You past is not, and has never
been, your future.

If you have the drive and resources to achieve your goals then you become
unstoppable! When you are truly passionate about something you can get
through any challenge, you can get through to any boss; you find the money
you need to fund your goals.
What determines our success?
Your state – your emotions – will determine what happens in your life and
nothing else. What you focus on and the meaning you give to what you are
focusing on will really determine whether you will be successful.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Is God punishing you or rewarding you?
Are difficult situations a curse or a blessing? Your answer to these questions
will shape who you are and what you achieve.
Learn how to manage your state – your emotions. The important thing to
remember is at any time you can choose to change by focusing on what is
driving this current state of “not wanting to” when it comes to your goal and
then focusing on your target, your motivation.
You can motivate yourself, and discover the answer to what you truly want by
asking yourself “What’s next?” “What do you want in your life”; “What are you
going to do about it?”
These are all questions that I ask clients to get them to realize what their
vision is and realize the greatness they have within them to achieve it.

Right now monitor the thoughts that are going on in your mind. Are you
convinced this really is too basic and it can’t be that simple? Are you telling
yourself that you can’t find the questions to your own answers? Trust me
when I say that the only person who is in your own way is you. Fight to regain
your power by believing in yourself enough to know that you can ask yourself
a question and expect an answer and/or solution, end the programming that
has you believing that someone else is more qualified to tell you what you
should be doing.
That final question “What am I going to do about it?” will determine
whether you choose to stay in the “I don’t want to” or “I don’t know” state or
choose to get up, change your state to gratitude and re-live the excitement
you will experience when you achieve your goal.
Increase Your Resourcefulness
Increasing your resourcefulness is exactly what I have just been writing about.
It’s about believing in your ability and discovering the best course of action for
you, based upon what you believe to be right.
You can instantly increase your resourcefulness through empowerment. Okay
so you don’t have the money to start your own business, how else can you
get it? Who can you impress with your playfulness and passion such that
they are inspired enough to give it to you? Who can you share your vision
with such that they are moved to support you with their time or expertise?
Remember that your emotions – your state – is everything, watch your state,
especially as it pertains to your goals because believe me there will be times
when your emotions will tell you that you’ve had enough, that you don’t want

to do this, that you may as well give up because it is not working. At those
times recognize that you are not focusing on what you want, you are not
focusing on your goal, your current target and/or your motivation.
Recognize that this is just your dis-empowering state doing its best to get hold
of you, and know it is doing that because it wants to make sure you really
want this. If you really want something no dis-empowering state will be able
to grab hold of you for very long. If you don’t that state will swallow you whole
and have you believe you are a failure.
I know I want to be a millionaire. And what happened is my world made sure it
showed me that I was not, this for me was a test to see how much I really
wanted it. So even in the times when I was not making any money, I had no
work coming in, the credit card bills came in one after the other, and another
bill needed paying. Even when all of that was happening I kept my focus on
what I want to achieve.
I kept my focus on being able to provide my parents with money to enjoy their
twilight years, being able to travel around the world with my children, being
able to open a center for young people that will support them in their personal
development. This is I focus on, this is how I empower myself towards
achievement.

Do It! Your SELF Empowerment Exercise
What’s next for you? What do you want for yourself and your life?
What is currently driving your emotional state?
Look at a goal you have not achieved and ask yourself; “What was driving my
state?” If you wanted to save money but all you did was spend find out what
drove your need to spend.
Look at what dis-empowering thoughts and emotions you had because it is
important you are aware of what you do to sabotage yourself, and then look at
your goal again to save money and find the one determining factor that will
ensure you reach your goal. What vision can you create that will excite you
enough to save? Is it having £10,000 or more? Is it saving for a new car?
This determining factor will be different for everyone and you need to believe
you have the power within you to discover what it is.
If you have not used your personal power look at who/what can help you. Do
you need to the skills of a mentor/coach? Is there an evening class that you
can attend and learn about developing your personal power? What about a
book to read or an audio to listen to. Small steps is the key, just continually
reading, listening to and making contact with people who are interested in
self-development will be a fantastic start. Ask questions of yourself every day
to discover what stopped you in the past so that you can learn to manage it in
the present, and create a different future for yourself based upon what
inspires you.

CHAPTER THREE
Focus and Desire – Its Really All You Need!
Focus
Here's another "secret" that you might want to GET right now, so I have put it in
early. There are no magic formulas to becoming successful it is all about focusing
on what works rather than what doesn't work.
It is all about focusing on what you want, not on what you don't want.
I know, I know, that's far too simple. Life is more complicated than that, right?
Wrong! Listen my life motto used to be “Life Must Be Hard”. It totally blew my
mind when I discovered that life is actually really, really simple and more
importantly life was never meant to be a struggle!
So it's time for a new conversation to take place.
"I don't want to be fat"
"I can never find a man"
"I am never successful in business"
"People always leave me"
"I never remember people's names"
What's your conversation? What's the conversation that you will be ending? Can
you see how this is really taking you away from what you want, and not focusing
on what it is you want to achieve.

"I work towards being the right weight for my height"
"I know I will release (note: you always want to release weight not lose it, why?
because you can find what was once lost!) this weight as I focus on healthy
eating and exercise."
"I enjoy loving relationships and open myself to love"
"My business enjoys continued success year after year"
Are you getting the picture here? What is it you want to achieve? Focus on that
and nothing else. Keep your focus on what you desire.
Believe in your mind, heart and soul that you have no other option than to be
successful, no matter how bad business is, even if no one attends your workshop.
Even if after year 1 your accounts tell you that you are in debt.
No matter what is happening in your world keep your focus on the fact that you
will succeed, feel it deep within you and hold onto that at all times. Engage your
emotions too, allow yourself to feel the excitement of achieving your goal.
I am not talking here about what you "hope" may happen, but on what you
absolutely know, deep within you, is possible.
The fears and the doubts. Oh, don't worry we will deal with them! They are just
there to make sure you really want what you say you do. After all, if we could just
want something and go for it that would be too easy!
The achievement comes from knowing that you want it, that you focused on it,
and that you overcame some major limits to get it.

Desire
What is your heart's desire? Now read that again because I did not ask what is it
that your head desires, we all know the head wants you to pay the bills and make
sure everything is safe and secure. But what is it that your heart desires?
Definition of Desire 1 to wish or long for; crave. 2. to request; ask for
So when you desire something not only do you long for it, but you are also
sending out a request, you are asking for what you want. And when you long for
something, when you focus on it as if your very life depended on it, when burning
desire fills your very soul and when you just KNOW that this is going to happen - it
is impossible for anything else but success to take place!
When you have a burning desire for something and are ready to stand in faith
(not religious faith, but the absolute knowing deep within you, like you know that
when you wake up tomorrow there will still be air to breathe – that kind of faith!)
you will successfully achieve it then the universe conspires to make it happen.
Suddenly information comes your way, people call you, and doors open.
Unfortunately, our goals do not always go that way because here is what many of
us do :
Monday: "My desire is to sell 100 copies of this product by Friday"
Tuesday "Actually did I say 100 I meant 200"
Wednesday "Well I have sold 5 so maybe I should say less than 100"
Thursday "Oh God this stuff never works for me!"
Okay, a slight exaggeration, but you get where I am going with this. If things do
not happen when we think they should, if it takes us 3 weeks instead of 1 to

finish something, or if we attempt something once and it doesn’t work we are
ready to give up.
The goal posts are changed half way through, we give up because success is
taking so long, nothing happens as you think it should, there are reasons and
excuses for why things are not getting done, and so on and so forth.
How can we create what we desire if we keep changing the goal posts and get
caught up in that kind of mental confusion?
We need to work out what our desire is and then focus on it until it has been
achieved. Let me repeat that. Focus on it until it has been achieved.
Not until the next great thing comes along, not for one week until you have
decided it is a complete mess and you just don't want to do it anymore. Not until
you think it is not worth bothering with because it hasn't arrived when you were
expecting it!
No. This is about focusing on your desire until it has become a reality in your life.
But watch yourself here, because there is a very thin line between flogging a dead
horse and never giving up! How do you know which of the two you are doing?
Well that's an easy question for me to answer now because you know I have no
answer for you, you now know the only person that can answer that question is
you :0)

Focus + Desire ( - Distraction) x Support = Success
Okay so you do the math! Discover what you desire, focus on it, limit distractions,
gain support and success will be your final result. Of course life will throw a few
obstacles along the way, remember though these "obstacles" are a real blessing
because they are supporting your growth and development.
You will either allow what happens to crush you or make you stronger. Your
reaction to these events will be everything. If you have a true desire to achieve
something then nothing will stand in your way. And again, there is something
bigger than other people or events that can stand in the way of your success.
Once more the secret to what stops you, what limits your success is no secret.
Why? Well because it's you!
If you have a true desire for something but an underlying belief that it is not
possible, or a need to sabotage your success then you have just hit your biggest
obstacle ever.
Reading self-help books, attending seminars, gathering support, these are all the
icing on the cake. But it's the cake itself that you need to impact! And again, this
is about you going deep within and discovering what you do to ensure you fail –
(there is an exercise in the next chapter for this).
Trust me on this one, if you do not have everything you desire in your life right
now it is not because the delivery didn't turn up on time, or people let you down.
It is not because the prototype didn't work properly or because there wasn't
enough money.

If any area of your life isn't working it is because deep within you there is a part of
you making sure you screw up.
If you have trouble believing that then chances are you will never find out what
part of you is doing this. If you are reading this now and thinking "that's not me!"
then you are in deeper trouble than you know!
There are only two ways that you can uncover why you do what you do. The first is
to acknowledge that you do it, and the second is to ask yourself some questions
that will help you uncover what you do and/or why you do it. And we cover that
next!

Focus And Desire Exercise
1. Decide what you want and right it down – translate your dreams into
organized thought
2. Create an image at the end of what you want, see yourself having
completed it
3. Include your feels, the feeling of joy, excitement, pride, whatever works, just
feel that feeling of success. You just managed to achieve your goal,
celebrate it
4. Include music, your favorite tune, turn it up load and hear it blasting all
around you.
5. Now stop and write it all down, everything you saw, heard, felt, tasted,
experienced; get it all down on paper, do not miss out any detail. Re-
connected with it as you write. This is your future life.
6. Every morning and every night focus on your dream. Focus on it and feel
that feeling of you already having it.
7. Work towards it with absolute belief until you achieve it.
It doesn’t take much to get what you want, only absolute faith! Which of course is
the big one for people!
And we all know that absolutely believing we can achieve this is one of the
biggest limits that we posses – unless its not!
