Unemployment Benefits

For those of you who will be laid off in the up and coming workforce reduction, you may, of course, be eligible for Unemployment Compensation Benefits as determined by the State of Ohio. The effective date of the layoff will be November 2nd, your waiting week will be November 2nd through November 6th. In order for you to satisfy the waiting week requirement, you cannot receive any compensation during this first week. All compensation, whether it is wages or vacation pay, must be in your possession by Friday, October 30th. If you would like to sell your unused 2009 vacation, you must let Sheree Miller or I know by Friday, October 23rd at the latest. You can file your claim on-line at www.unemployment.ohio.gov by clicking on the “Unemployed Workers” link. You may also file via telephone at 1-877-644-6562.
