									NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PULSES
16th September 2006, Hotel Ashok, New Delhi Theme- Emerging Challenges for the Pulses industry in the changing Trade Scenario
India is the largest producer and consumer of pulses in the world. Once incomprehensible to the people outside pulses industry, this business is getting more transparent with the changing trade scenario. Increased transparency in this business has pulled in new class of investors and new set of challenges and issues for the pulses industry.

National Conference on Pulses:
The organizer of National Conference Pulses 2006, Agriwatch (Indian Agribusiness Systems Pvt. Ltd) (www.agriwatch.com) is the largest services organization in agriculture domain in India with business units spanning from Publishing (own 4 publications, 11 more periodicals produced for various clients), Online Information Services (SMS services and the largest agri portal in India), Consulting Services, Audio Visual Services, and BPO operations like Content Syndication. Agriwatch took the initiative and continues to maintain the tradition to bring the Pulses industry, which is widely scattered and largely unorganized, together on a single platform in order to help address all emerging issues and challenges to this industry. We successfully conducted the "1st National Conference on Pulses and Related Industries" on July 18, 2004. The Conference was the first of its kind in India and provided the single largest platform to bring together participants from the pulses industry. The Conference was also the start of a trend-setting yearly routine, with considerable contribution towards industrial interactions. We held the "2nd Conference on Pulses and Related Industries" on August 21st 2005, which again was a grand success. Both the previous Conferences witnessed enormous discussion on a wide spectrum of areas like export-import, production, policies, processing industries, role of futures exchanges etc. and more importantly addressed the upcoming challenges to processors, millers, exporters, importers, traders, brokers, machinery manufacturers etc. In addition to being successful networking platforms, these meets also led to closing of several business deals during the event. Around 1000 delegates from India and more than 70 international delegates participated in both these conferences. In the second conference, we introduced an interactive session on Supply and Demand Analysis for pulses, along with crop estimates for the Kharif Pulses Crops. This was the first analysis of its kind released by a panel of industry experts. We are pleased to announce the '3rd National Conference on Pulses & Related Industries' on Sept 16, 2006 at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. We invite you to join this yearly conclave in Delhi featuring processors, millers, exporters, importers, top buyers, traders, brokers, and machinery manufacturers from all over the world. It will provide a unique marketing opportunity to network, make strategic alliances, share new technologies and explore joint ventures. This National Conference is an exclusive opportunity to meet potential clients from around the World. The experts on the panel will share their insights on various issues including lack of uniformity in tax system (VAT) across different states, defaulters, payment delays, phyto-sanitary measures, freight and other policy issues that remain a major concern for exporters as well as importers. There will be an interactive session on Supply and Demand Analysis for pulses, along with the release of crop estimates for the Kharif pulses crops. An expert panel will be commissioned to release the pulses production estimates in the country for year 2007. Various sessions planned

in the conference will help participants get a clearer picture of the emerging destinations for Indian pulses and the measures they can take to increase their market share. The Conference will offer an excellent opportunity for disseminating, sharing and exchanging the latest information about the pulses industry. Participants will get an opportunity to know about various critical case studies in the industry, which will help them in business planning. This National Conference would provide an interactive platform to promote sustained and accelerated growth of pulses and related industry.
