Position: Youth Enrichment Instructors & After School Lead (open to non-licensed and
licensed ISD 622 staff)
Location: District-wide
Schedule: 2:20-3:40, 3:15-4:15, and/or 3:45-4:45
Start date: end of Sept, 2010

Salary: Varies based upon position
Work Year: Fall 2010 with a possibility to extend the rest of 2010-2011 school year

Do you have a hobby, skill or talent that you would like to share with students? If so, consider
teaching or leading it through community education's youth enrichment program! We are
seeking creative staff who are passionate about working with youth grades K-5 and/or 6-8.

We are accepting applications from dynamic individuals who can lead a class or multiple classes
during after school hours! Class days and times are open depending on the schedule of the
school.

Classes You Can Teach:


Arts & Crafts - Are you creative to lead these classes with energetic youth? Create your own
pillow, paint your own pumpkin, design your own backpack or notebook, digital art card making,
duct tape creations and more?

Recreation, Sports & Safety - Are you passionate about recreation & fitness and would like to
share your interest such as soccer, basketball, kickball, chess, geocaching, and disc golf with
kids?

Technology, Engineering & Math - Do you like learning about technology/math & have the
ability to lead Lego Education classes such as WeDo Robotics, Mindstorms Robotics, Simple &
Motorized Mechanisms? Training can be provided.

Music, Theater & Drama - Can you lead private or group lessons, world rhythms, improv
games and more?
Languages & Culture - Would you like to help youth explore different languages & cultures
like Spanish, French, Manadarin, and more through fun games, delicious food & hands-on
activities?

Science - Do you enjoy figuring out which chemical mixtures can create different substances? If
so, lead fun science experiments; previous classes included kitchen chemistry, all about animals,
blow it up and more

Community Engagement / Service-Learning - Explore community issues along side the
children, such as the environment, hunger, homelessness and other pressing issues. Then take
students to Feed My Starving Children, Second Harvest, a Senior Center, read to younger youth
at a preschool and more. Reflect the learning experience with the students.

Field Trips - As an instructor / after school lead, you can also chaperone different trips to grand
slam, snorkeling, plat tag, waterpark, bowling and more



Desired Qualifications:

      Interest or passion in working with students
      Available to work during after school hours
      Ability to connect and engage all youth, especially at-risk students
      Knowledge or experience with experiential and hands-on learning methods
      Prior experience (formal or informal) and high interest in the class you will be teaching
       or leading
