DAILY LESSON PLAN FORM Teachers: Ms. Heath and Ms. Palbykin Date: January 24th 2012 Class: 10th Grade English AGENDA Sentence Fluency Warm Up Read the myth of Persephone Create a “Persephone Post-Secret” Share COMMON CORE STANDARDS R(L).10.1. Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. R(L).10.6. Analyze a particular point of view or cultural experience reflected in a work of literature from outside the United States, drawing on a wide reading of world literature. W.10.9. Draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research. OBJECTIVES The student will be able to work on their sentence fluency, showing their ability to start mastering the skill of writing. The student will be able to read and comprehend the myth of Persephone. The student will be able to create his or her own “Persephone Post-Secret”. The student will be able to share their creation. MATERIALS NEEDED Sentence Fluency Warm Up A copy of the Persephone myth Card stock Markers ACTIVITIES Time Teacher Procedures Student Responsibilities 10-15 Sentence Fluency Warm Up Students will work on their minutes sentence fluency warm up, revising sentences for more fluid wording. 10 minutes Distribute myths and start to call on Read along with the students to read aloud.
