California State University, Dominguez Hills, invites applications for one full-time tenure-track position
at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in the public administration in the Department of Public
Administration, College of Business Administration and Public Policy. The appointment will be effective
fall semester, 2008 or possibly spring 2008. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of
funds.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching duties may consist of day or evening classes. Additional responsibilities include research and
service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and
Public Policy. Published research in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and
promotion. Teaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate and graduate courses, and may
include online courses (masters only). Courses are available to be taught in public administration and
criminal justice administration.

QUALIFICATIONS
  A. Required: A PhD/DPA in Public Administration, Public Policy or closely related fields. ABDs
      and candidates with terminal degrees from related fields are encouraged to apply. The ability to
      teach in the MPA program. A record of or potential for effective teaching and scholarly research
      and publication in the fields listed above.
  B. Preferred: Expertise in the field of non-profit management. Relevant professional experience
      and the ability to interact effectively with practitioners. Experience in or potential for teaching
      on-line graduate courses. Ability to build academic programs.

RANK AND SALARY
Appointment at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor and salary are dependent upon
qualifications and professional experience. Compensation, benefits, workload, and related factors are
competitive.

THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC POLICY
The University recently reorganized the School of Business and Public Administration into the College of
Business Administration and Public Policy that consists of five business departments (accounting, finance
and quantitative methods, information systems, management, and marketing) and two departments of
public policy (political science/economics/labor studies and public administration) and applied studies.
The College houses fifty-three full-time faculty, 2100 undergraduates and 450 graduates. Enrollments
have been growing steadily and are projected to continue. The College offers three graduate degrees, an
MBA, MPA and a Masters of Science in Engineering Management (jointly with CSULB). All three
degrees have on-line options, and the MBA Online program was cited in the Wall Street Journal and is
listed as a top-ten best buy by Geteducated.com. The public administration program is accredited by

THE CAMPUS
California State University, Dominguez Hills, was established in 1960 and is one of the 23 campuses that
comprise The California State University system. CSU Dominguez Hills is an urban, comprehensive
public university that serves a culturally rich, diverse student body of over 13,500 students at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Located on a 346-acre site in the South Bay portion of the greater Los
Angeles metropolitan area, CSU Dominguez Hills has a highly pluralistic student body, which includes a
significant number of non-traditional, working adult students as well as approximately 2,000 students
enrolled in distance learning programs. The University, with its five colleges, has more than 300 full-time
