About Baltimore City Community College
Founded in 1947, Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) is a comprehensive, urban
community college accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The
College has a main campus in west Baltimore and satellite locations throughout the city. With its
broad range of degree and certificate programs, affordable tuition, and extensive outreach,

of Maryland. BCCC serves approximately 20,000 students a year, providing credits that transfer
to four year colleges and universities as well as workforce development training that leads

The Coordinator, Career Development Services is responsible for

developing and implementing services and activities to address the
career development needs of BCCC students and alumni. The position
also assists in the provision of student support services to include
academic advising and transfer services to new and re-entering
students.
Required qualification Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field; Master’s degree
preferred
Two years of experience in support services, advising and/or career
services in a higher education environment

Essential Functions (Career Development)
Establish career files for students searching for employment and
career opportunities and internships
Assess outcomes and develop program improvements as
needed
Track the employment status of all program participants
Provide individual and group counseling for career development
Post job openings
Assist in the planning and implementation of career fairs
Assist in the development and implementation of educational/job
preparation workshops for participants
Assist participants with job search activities, labor market
information and Internet browsing
Promote employment services among campus departments and
faculty
Identify part-time and career-related employment opportunities
for BCCC current and former students
(Student Support Services)
Assist with the new Student Orientation sessions regarding
academic advising procedures, ACCUPLACER test results,
Student Inquiry Report, BCCC Catalog and the Schedule of
Credit Classes
Assist students with choosing and changing majors
Assist in providing academic services to new and reassigned
students in Good Standing, Academic Warning and Dismissal
status
