                                       2.1.3 Able to segment words into phonemes to spell.

  Objectives:
                                       By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to
                                       1.read the words aloud with correct pronunciation.
                                       2.find the words with ‘d’ , ‘m’ ,’t’ ,’p’ ,’s’ ‘b’ from the story shown.

    1.Pupils watch a story from video entitled A Dog

    2.Teacher and pupils talk about the story. The teacher asks
    the
     pupils to name the picture; Sam, Sid, tin, Pam, dog, Ben and
    mat

    3.Teacher asks the pupils to point out other words that start
    with
     the sound ‘s’ ‘t’ ‘p’ from the story. eg-sit, tin, pat, tap,

    4.Teacher guides the pupils to segment the words into
     phonemes e.g Pat- ‘p’ ‘a’ ‘t’

    5.Pupils read then copy these sentences(in chart);
    Sam and Pam are space spies.
    A dog sits on a mat
    Pat the dog.
    Tap the tins.

    6.Students look around the classroom to find things that begin
    with the same sounds.
