     Introduction
The Taj Mahal is generally
considered the finest example of
Mughal architecture a style that
combines elements of Persian,
Turkish, Indian and Islamic
architectural styles.
When was the Taj Mahal built?
They started working on the Taj
Mahal in 1632 and finished it in
1653, which means it took 21 years
to build. It took another five year to
build the garden with the help of
more than 20,oo workers. The
building is now 358 years old.
 Who built it, and why?
Mushal emperor, Shah
Jahan built it in memory of
his third wife, Mumtaz
Mahal.
Where is it located?

It is located in Agra, north
central part of India with a
population of 1,400,000 people.
The language spoken in Agra is
Hindi.
How big is the Taj Mahal?

It is 171 metres tall which is
561 feet. It is raised on a
square platform 186x186 feet.
With its for corners truncated,
forming an unequal octagon.
Cost of the Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal cost about
32million rupees to be built.
It costs about 200,000,000
in New Zealands currency.
  What is it used for?

Emperor Shan Jahan and his
wife Mumtaz Mahal, used it
for their palace, and when
they died it was used for
their grave and tourist
attraction. The Taj Mahal
still exists and has a great
relationship with the
environment.
