Fruit Tree Nursery Offers Donations for Research During Congenital Heart
Defect Awareness Week
Fruit tree nursery announces donation of gross sales to congenital heart defect research during
Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week, Feb. 7-14, 2012.
Nacogdoches, TX, February 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Trey Watson, owner of Legg Creek Farm, LLC, a
Douglass, Texas-based fruit tree nursery, has announced that his company will be donating 10% of gross
sales to congenital heart defect research in honor of Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week.
Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week is February 7-14, 2013.
“My daughter was born with a congenital heart defect,” Watson said. “She's three months old and she's
had one heart surgery so far. She'll need two other surgeries before she's three years old.”
One in one hundred babies worldwide is born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). Watson said that he
hopes his company can help spread the word about CHD. “Before our daughter was diagnosed with a
CHD, my wife and I had no idea how relatively common it was to have a baby with CHD. It's a type of
birth defect people need to be aware of.”
Ten percent of the all gross sales through the company's website or over the phone made during
Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week will be donated to groups that fund research into cures and
treatments for congenital heart disease, including the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Association
(www.achaheart.org/) and The Children's Heart Foundation (childrensheartfoundation.org/)
