Financial Accountant (Gent)
This position is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial and management reporting information. Specific responsibilities include maintenance of general ledger (reconciliation and support of balance sheet and profit/loss statements), financial analysis and reporting, coordination with other Cargill Business Units and Functions, work process improvements and support of Financial Management Accountant. We are responsible to close the books for 3 companies in relation to biodiesel in Belgium. We have a trading, a toll-processing and a joint venture company all with it's own complexity.
Roles and responsabilities
Day to day financial accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations and bank statements. Analysis of financial information, management reporting and calculating forecasts. Month end activities such as journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations Support in A/R and A/P activities. Set up new customers for credit control, follow-up on open and overdue A/R and report these overdue positions accordingly. Participation in ad hoc projects, information support for various business initiatives. Reporting of daily positions, commercial and forex. Be one of the team members who can close the books for our companies.
Principal Accountabilities 10 % Participate in system/process improvements and initiatives. Ad hoc projects 20 % Month end P/L close duties. Ensure accuracy and timelines of financial reports 10 % Management analysis and reporting 10 % Cross-training activities 15 % Daily accounting activities. Ensure compliance with all Cargill, RMFS, CP, and GAAP policies and procedures 25 % Monitor, track and reporting of daily positions, both commercial and forex 10 % Work on implementation of GOSCE policies. Ensure Biodiesel are in line with Corporate and GOSCE policies Requirements
Bachelor degree with a direct link to accounting 3-4 years of experience in accounting Good understanding and demonstrated commitment to internal control Good knowledge of local accounting and US GAAP Good understanding of local taxation and accounting standards High degree of computer literacy, Excel in particular Highly motivated with collaborative working style at the same time with ability to work independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of work processes Result oriented with attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to adapt positively to a changing environment and high learning capacity Flexible
