NATIONAL	CENTRE FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY & POPULATION HEALTH

The National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) offers undergraduate students opportunities to apply for scholarships to study towards honours degrees at ANU in areas related to the research at NCEPH. There are many factors that affect the health of human populations apart from clinical care. The natural and built environments, genetic endowments, socioeconomic status, diet, way of life, the organisation and funding of health services are some of these factors. Population health involves the scientific study of these factors. The complexity of the study of population health demands a multi-disciplinary approach. NCEPH is a multi-disciplinary research centre committed to furthering understanding of the determinants of population health. Built upon the disciplines of epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, demography and sociology, it undertakes research and trains researchers at the forefront of inquiry into population health.
