CAN I GET A DOG? WEBQUEST For grades 2-4 By Susana Audi INTRODUCTION Zak is a seven years old boy, who wants a dog , however his Dad says NO, because is a lot of responsibilities and expensive too. His Mom is not sure because Zak has allergies to dog’s hair and she is concern that he could get sick with a dog at home. Your quest is to help Zak to convince his parents to get a dog for him. THE TASK You will work in a group of 3 or 4 students, and you will help Zak to: *Find the cost of having a dog. *Find different kinds of hypoallergenic dogs, (because he has allergies) *Decide if the family has time to spend with a dog, and the training that it need. After you finish making your research you have to put all the elements together and then make a group report, finally the group have to make a presentation to the class. THE PROCESS The group needs to do: Step 1 What are the monthly expenses associated with a dog? Examples: food, toys, collars the vets expensive, etc. Make a list of all the expensive and calculate a monthly cost. Write the different activities that they could do with a dog and the different places where they could take care of it, if they need to go out of town.
