NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS
Scholars’ Bowl We had a good showing in the Bishop Miege tournament last night. The team of Alison Wathen, Matt Picht, Eowyn Jackson, and Michael Kist was very competitive and took the third place plaque. If you see them, please give them a pat on the head. PSAT Scores PSAT scores are in Student Services and can be picked up. Student Publications Applications for the literary magazine, yearbook and newspaper are available in Room 2228. You may still enroll in the class prior to submitting an application. Anyone interested in graphic design, reporting or writing should sign up to be on a staff.

College Visits The following colleges will have representatives available at ONW for students to visit with: University of Missouri-Rolla, 1/30, 2 p.m. The Raven Dance Team Congratulations to the Raven Dance Team! The girls competed this weekend at Olathe South’s Miss Kansas Competition. They walked away with armloads of trophies and medals. Please congratulate them. Duet Awards went to: McKenzi Crow/Morgan Combs McKenzi Crow/Amanda Robinson Amanda Robinson/AA Boyce AA Boyce/Morgan Combs Hannah Williams/Tyerney McVey Lauren Hipp/Ashley Miller Katarina Ferrell/Sarah Bulmash Kelly Doran/Kristen Schaper Small Ensemble Awards went to: Combs/Crow/Robinson/Boyce/McVey Kelly Doran/Kristen Schaper/Kelly Williams/Gina Speer Officer Awards went to: Crow/Combs/Boyce/Robinson The team earned Judges’ Awards as well: Precision Award for Pom Choreography Award for Hip Hop Showmanship for Pom (first time in two years!)

The team also walked away with a Sweepstakes Award and a Shining Star award. Many of the judges’ feedback forms showed perfect scores for the routines, which did not happen last year. Raven Repertory Theatre Company The Raven Repertory Theatre Company presents Lunacy on Friday February 2 and Saturday February 3rd at 7pm in the Flex Theatre. Twenty years before Sally Ride became the first woman in space, thirteen American women successfully completed preliminary training for the Mercury program but were denied the opportunity to become astronauts. Lunacy is a tribute to these forgotten women of history. Swimming and Diving Monday evening the Ravens finished first competing against Blue Valley Northwest, Shawnee Mission West and Bonner Springs. The following swimmers and divers won their events; Dillon Burns, Brandon Stoopelmoor, Thomas Bromley, Devin Rolph, Scott Hegwald, and Chris Stauffer. The team has two more meets this week. Thursday they will travel to Blue Valley West and Saturday they will compete in the Wichita Northwest Invitational. 21st Century/Milcreek Programs Any student interested in the 21st Century or Millcreek programs have the opportunity to tour those programs within the next 2 weeks. If you would like to participate in tours of the programs at Olathe North, Millcreek or Heartland Early Childhood Center please see Mr. Heinen in Student Services as soon as possible to get tour dates and times or to sign up. Wednesday Spirit Day Wednesday will be a spirit day--all students and staff should deck out in Raven Gear for a pep rally. The theme is Road Trip: Pack Your Black. Lost eye glasses There are quite a few eye glasses that have been turned into the front office. If anyone has lost a pair of eye glasses, please come to the front office to check if any of the ones we have could be theirs. Submit to the Literary Magazine The literary magazine is accepting submissions for its spring magazine. All students are eligible to submit written works, photography, artwork or multimedia (music, video, dialogues, etc.). Submissions are due before Spring Break. Sophomore Committee Meeting Tuesdays 3:15-3:45. Sophomore Committee Meeting in Trimble’s room-1309. Engineering Day at K-State Juniors and Seniors who are interested in Engineering at K-State are invited to attend Kansas State University Engineering Day on Friday, Febr. 16, 2007. Students will be given an in-depth look at the College of Engineering and career opportunities associated with it along with a campus tour and a discussion of college life at K-State. Information and a registration packet may be picked up in Student Services. Registration deadline is Friday, Febr. 2, 2007. Project Grad hoodies A table will be set up in the commons during lunch until Wednesday for students to pick up their ordered senior hoodies and T-shirts. Community Service This year, all student volunteer community service hours will be recorded on a website established by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. This will allow a more streamlined and accurate way of documenting volunteer hours. A step-by-step instruction sheet explaining the log-in process may be picked up in the Student Service office. Come by anytime, get your instruction sheet, and start logging in your hours. Students earning 100 hours or more by March 9, 2007, will be eligible for a Presidential award. Raven Spiritwear Raven Spiritwear is now available for purchase in the school store. The store is open on Thursday mornings from 7:30 - 9:00 am.

Stop by for those hoodies, jackets, t-shirts, sweatshirts, letter jackets, etc. The cool weather is upon us and nows the time to buy!
