Project # 1: Children’s Story
Option 1: Create an original children’s story. The story can be for ages 3-7. Length of the story must be at
least 20 pages. Original artwork is preferred however you may use clipart or pictures if you are not artistic. Put
the picture in the center then the English under the picture and the Spanish under the English. Please make sure
that the English and Spanish are separated by at least 3 blank lines. Make the font big enough for small
children. I suggest a font of 18. Grades will be assigned based on the rubric.
Option 2: Translate an original children’s story. I must see the book before you begin to ensure that it has no
Spanish equivalent. The story can be for ages 3-7. Length of the story must be at least 30 pages. Original

Project # 2: Tour guide
For this project you are to select 1 Spanish speaking country. You are to create a 2-3 week tour. Depending on
the country you may want to choose more than 1 hotel. You need to research hotels but don’t worry about
prices. You need to research at least 10 historical or sightseeing landmarks to take your clients. Please also
research a few restaurants, either in the city or near your hotel(s). Include prices for a regular meal for these
restaurants so your clients know what to expect to pay. The minimum # of restaurants is at least 5 for a 2 week
trip. Don’t worry about airplane ticket prices. Here is what you need: A PowerPoint presentation that has
photos of your hotel(s), destinations, and scenic views of the country. You also need to have a daily agenda.
The agenda needs to be specific. Please put what time and where breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be. You can
allow people to choose locations for lunch. If you do that make sure you have that written down on your
agenda. Include times that excursions will begin. Make sure that you take driving times into account. Also
include return times for the excursions. You may have a couple of free days. These also must be outlined in the
agenda. Finally please include a list of items that your clients should bring. Everything must be in Spanish.
Grades will be assigned based on the rubric.

Project # 3: Spanish workbook
For this project you can choose 2 grammar points and create a workbook with various types of activities. The 2
grammar points must be any of the verb tenses that you have learned through 4 years of Spanish. Here is what
you need to do: First choose 2 verb tenses to be covered. Then make a review page that describes how the
verbs are conjugated and how to use the tense. Finally, you need to create 5 different exercises. The exercises
should have a minimum of 10 items. Repeat this for the next tense. In total you will have 50 total items for
your 5 different exercises per tense. Grades will be assigned based on the rubric.
Difficulty of tenses – 30 points Number of exercises per tense – 40 points
Structure of each activity – 100 points Grammar – 100 points

Project # 4: Video skit
2-4 people only. For this project you and your group must create a skit based on the following: You are a
foreign exchange student entering Harding high school. You don’t know anyone and your English is very
limited. The only place you can communicate is your Spanish 4 class. Assign 1 member of the group to be the
foreign exchange student. The other members will be responsible for asking and answering questions. Here is
what I need: Each member of the group must have at least 5 minutes of actual speaking. I will be timing each
person by rewinding the video. Your questions must revolve around a central theme. I would suggest
beginning with introductions and then describing the class and school environment. After that it will be your
choice. (All conversations MUST be school appropriate). If I hear any swearing or any topic that I deem
inappropriate you and the group will receive an automatic 0. To avoid this, please run your ideas by me first.
Your group members will also be grading you on your participation, so don’t expect 1 person to do everything.
Taping can be done in my classroom during class, but you MUST schedule what day(s) you need. Grades will
be assigned based on the rubric.
Rubric (per person)
5 minutes of actual conversation – 50 points
