Guitar Chord Lessons
Are you interested in taking up guitar chord lessons? You are most probably a newbie
with the desire to want to become a guitar pro. Whatever the case, it is important to get
your foundations right. I will be sharing a few things that you should take note of while
you learn basic guitar chords. By the end of this article I hope you will be enlightened
about this subject, so without further ado, let me get started.

Basic Notes

Chords are made up of at least three basic notes on
a scale. In most cases, they are the root, the third
and the fifth note of the scale. Before you start
learning about music theory, you should familiarize
yourself with your guitar and learn how to play
each individual note. Be sure that you know how to
play a note fluently when asked by your trainer.
You should master this step before moving on to
learning how to play guitar chords because this is
the most fundamental step, besides getting to
know of the various parts on your guitar. Once you
have mastered how to play each individual note,
you can move on to learning to play guitar chords.

Different Types Of Chords

There are many different type of chords. You have
the major, minor, augmented and diminished chords, just to name a few. What you
learn during your guitar chord lessons may vary from one course to another, but when
people think of easy guitar chords for beginners , they usually think of major chords,
followed by minor chords. All mainstream songs have these. Not all songs have
augmented or diminished chords though. If you want to start playing simple songs, you
need to learn how to play major chords first.

Chord Variations

Most guitar chord lessons should teach you about chord variations. Now, there are
different ways to play a chord, depending on the style of playing, and the type of tone
you want to achieve. Basically, the notes on the chord remain the same, but the order

or sequence of the note gets changed. For example, a variation of a traditional C Major
chord, which is made up of the C, E and G notes, can be changed to E, G, C, or G, C, E.
This may be a little complicated at first but over time, you will become more familiar
with these variations.

With that, I hope you have a better idea of what you should take note of during guitar
chord lessons. Do remember to have fun while you are learning as well.
