Thanks for your choice of our product!
This Manual will help you being familiar with the products of our company,
understanding the information such as system composition and configuration. The
detailed system Setup process and various system functions are introduced in this
document. Please read this Manual carefully before you use this software and
relevant equipments. This will help you use it better. We apologize sincerely that
the discrepancies may exist between the software and hardware regards and this
Manual owing to the increasing update of the software and hardware. Please
understand the product update info timely by logging in the website of our
company.
This version of computer-aid proof machine for cartons and paper-boxes reaches
a high-speed and high-precision cutting with a high-performance control system.
It has three functions of cutting, impressing and plotting. These functions are
combined to finish proofing the cartons and paper-boxes. It can plot on the wood
plates, paperboards and glued boards other than cutting various types of
corrugated paper, Kraft paper, craft paper, film, PVC materials, leathers, foams,
sponges and other mediums.
Be sure to read this User’s Manual before using this product in order to ensure the
cutting quality and best production effect.

                          Hardware Part

Attention for Setup and Debugging of Proof Machine


  1.    The technicians shall tell the clients the required Setup and debugging
        time, generally 2-3 working days, before Setup.
  2.    The machine shall be powered upon being grounded well after the Setup.
  3.    The installing personnel shall adjust the level degree of the bench
        carefully.
       ① Make the machine level by drawing the footing-adjusted diagonal
          screws.
       ② Adjust the bench level with the fixed pen or dial gauge.
       ③ Please cover the vacuum bench surface where is not used with the
          air-tightened objects or paper boards, benefiting to strengthen the
          vacuum suction.
  4.    Adjust the alignment degree of plotting pen, pinch roller, knife and laser
        lamp, machine angle, size, precision, and alignment degree of X and Y
        lines.
  5.    Seach and kill the virus monthly (note: unstall the virus-killiing software
        after completion of it).
  6.    The installing personnel shall teach the clients how to use and modify
        the parameters and indicate the meaning of each parameter.
  7.    Other software, screen saver and standby function shall not be used in
        the attached supportive computers.
  8.    The template paper board and other materials used by the clients shall be
        leveled with better quality and the wet paperboard shall not be used.
  9.    The client shall retest and adjust the precision (of knife, plotting pen, and
        pinch roller and laser lamp) providing that there are special requirements
        after the client exchanges the knives.

  10.   Please close the laser lamp punctually when it is not used (in order to
        prolong the service life of the laser lamp and battery).
  11.   The installing depth of the knives is adequate to such extent that the
        knife tip stabs into vacuum leather by 0.5mm in order to ensure the
        service life of the materials of the machine bench.
  12.   The machine uses AC380 power supply, which cannot be mixed to use
        together with other equipments of large power.
  13.   Please keep a space apart from the proof machine in order to avoid
        injuries due to collision and prevent it from being damaged when it is
        working.
  14.   Do not place any heavy objects on the bench of the proof machine.

                        Daily Maintenance and Upkeep


■    Daily maintenance and upkeep

The following shall be noted in operating the proof machine:

    1. Keep the plane of the proof machine clean. The impurities remained on
        the platform of proof machine should be cleaned after each operation in
        order to avoid that the impurities fall inside the machine or block the
        pores on the rubber skin of the platform, weakening the absorbability of
        the proof machine.

    2. The lubricating oil should be filled in the gear box of the proof machine
        every three months, thereby reducing the mechanic friction and lowering
        the noise every three months.

    3. Various parameters of the proof machine should be strictly set up
        according to the methods described in this Manual in order to guarantee
        the reliable operation of the proof machine.

    4. The knife, pinch roller, plotting pen should be checked for perfection
        before each use of the proof machine.

    5. Shall prevent the proof machine for paper-boxes from being
        contaminated or polluted

    6. Avoid the location where the proof machine for paper-boxes is stored
        from direct sunlight or high temperature.

    7. The machine shall be placed on a level ground. The heavy and big objects
        shall not be placed on the machine bench in order to avoid deformation of
        the machine surface due to force, resulting that the machine cannot work
        normally.

8. Keep a good indoor air quality, ensure the ambient temperature -10℃
   -+40℃ and the relative humidity within 40%-75%.

9. Periodically (semimonthly) oil the motion components in the machine
   nose of the proof machine in order to reduce the mechanic friction and
   lower the noise.

10. Please periodically clean the dusts and sundries for electric control
   cabinet, guide rails and computers, and finally add motor oil to the guide
   rails.

11. Please turn off all power supplies (air compressor, computer, vacuum
   pump, carton-operating machine) and the gas valve after finishing the
   operation of the proof machine. Turn on the air pump firstly, and then the
   computer and software and finally the control box before the proof
   machine is turned on every day.

12. The water in the air compressor shall be drained frequently and the air
   source shall be kept clean for the air compressor.

  Chapter 1: Structure of Proof Machine
The entire proof machine for cartons and paper-boxes consists essentially of three
parts:

I. Computer control center: it is composed of a PC system and a motion controller
  (card).

II. Electric control cabinet:It is an electric actuator composed of electric power
  circuit, control electric circuit, servo motor driver, pneumatic solenoid valve and
  contactors and so on. These parts are centralized in the vertical electric cabinet.

III. Cutting lathe: it is composed of operating surface, machine nose, servo motor,
  emergency stop switch, manual control panel and caging device etc., adjacent to
  which are the vortical air pump and air compressor.


1. Cutting lathe

1.1. Composition of Cutting lathe
    1. Machine nose: drive the cartons and paper-boxes proof machine to plot,
       cut and impress.
    2. X guide rail: the guide rail where the machine nose moves in the X axle
       direction.
    3. Y guide rail: the guide rail where the machine nose move in the Y axle
       direction
    4. Cutting range: to support the cutting range on the surface of the material
       to be cut. The origin of cutting coordinate is at underside, the coordinate
       X directs to left-front side and the coordinate X directs to the right side.
    5. Carrier:    to support the operating plane of the carton-operating machine
    6. Footings:    to adjust the level degree of the cutting lathe
    7. Emergency stop switch: Control the power supply of the electric control
       cabinet.
    8. Operating panel: control and manipulate the machine nose to move to
       front, rear, left and right side or to pause.

1.   Firstly, find the numbers mutually corresponded and the up and down marks
     on the carriers (shown as in Fig 1), tightly thread the fastening screw. The
     vertical degree between the carriers should be ensured.
2.   Install the carriers and lathe body (shown as in Fig 2), tightly thread with the
     fastening screw. The carriers are required to be vertical to the cutting plane of
     the lathe body.
3.   Adjust the adjusting nuts under the carriers in order to ensure the level of the
     cutting plane. Clockwise rotate to lift the cutting lathe body or anticlockwise
     lower the cutting lathe body (shown as in Fig 3).

4.   The Installation method of connection between the carrier and the beam is
     shown as in Fig 3: tightly thread with screws and keep the vertical degree
     between the carrier and the beam.
1.3 Machine Nose

1.   Machine nose hood: used to package the machine nose and protect the
     machine nose from damage
2.   Pinch roller:A tool used to generate the pinching lines
3.   Knife fixture:   a fixture used to assemble various knives
4.   Penholder: used to assemble the plotting pens and special knives
5.   Machine nose Installation holes: adjusting holes used to install and position
     the machine nose
6.   Impress depth adjustment Handwheel: used to adjust the pinch roller to
     generate the depth level of the pinching lines
7.   Cutting depth adjustment handwheel: used to adjust the cutting depth of the
     knives.
8.   Y guide rail: a support of the machine nose motion in the Y axle direction
9.   Photoelectric guard: a pair of photoelectric structure is installed before the
     guard in preventing the knives and pinch roller.
1.3.2 Models and Purposes of Pinch Roller

     corrugated cardboard.
2.   2.5 mm width of blade of the pinch roller is suitable for 5-7 mm thickness
     corrugated cardboard.
3.   1.5 mm width of blade of the pinch roller is suitable for below 3 mm
     thickness corrugated cardboard. Kraft paper, ashy cardboard, glued board,
     sticker paper, and composite materials and so on.

Assemble the pinch roller on the axle of the pinch roller and fasten them with
fastening screws as shown in above Fig.
1.3.4 Models and Hallmark of Knives

1.   The included angle of blades of the knife is 26 degrees; the cutting degree is
     5-7 mm, the cutting range: corrugated paper, paperboard, Kraft paper, ashy
     cardboard, glued board, sticker paper, composite materials and so on.
2.   The included angle of blades of the knife is 20 degrees; the cutting degree is
     7-10 mm, the cutting range: corrugated paper, paperboard, Kraft paper, ashy
     cardboard, glued board, sticker paper, composite materials and so on.
3.   The included angle of blades of the knife is 16 degrees, the cutting degree is
     10-15 mm, the cutting range: Corrugated paper, paperboard, Kraft paper,
     ashy cardboard, glued board, sticker paper and composite materials.

The height of the plotting pen can be adjusted according to the demand after the
plotting pen is assembled in the penholder, and then the fastening screw is tightly
threaded as shown in above Fig. The Installation of special knife is shown as in
Fig 2: clockwise rotate to lower the knife and anticlockwise to lift it.

Knife adjustment handle: clockwise rotate to lift the knife and anticlockwise to
lower it.
The adjustment amount of each rotary circle of the handle is 1 mm and the
adjustment travel is approximately 2-3 mm.

anticlockwise to lower it.

                               Software Part
Introduction to System

The computer-aided proof machine for cartons and paper-boxes consists of a
computer, a cutting-off machine and related design and process software. Firstly,
design the box figure through the special box-figure design software
(AutoCAD2004 is used for models in the Manual) in the computer, and then
transfer the well-designed box figure into the data file recognized by the
cutting-off machine system, thirdly dispose the cardboard within the cutting
interface on the cutting platform, launch the vacuum absorption, select the
execution items (such as, cutting, oriented cutting), finally press down the cutting
button to instruct the cutting-off machine to operate according to the received
commands.

The system is easy to learn and use and can save the proofing time and enhance
the productivity, thereby enabling a more reasonable and aesthetic outlooks for
the cartons and paper boxes.

Attentions

 Please do not open other software or operate other windows because our
    software uses the PC processor in a unique way of independent queue
    response when your cutting lathe is working, or otherwise you will
    undertake the results caused from this. Please firstly enter in the
    Dongfang cutting platform software and then turn on the power supply of
    the electric control cabinet upon each powering your machine on.
 The machine may be damaged due to impact if the “Range Parameters”
    are set beyond the physical range of the machine. This will be a vital error.
    The area not set on the machine bench will not be cut if the set values are
    less than the range of the machine. Generally, when the machine leaves

   the factory, the “Range Parameters” will be locked in the software and
   cannot be modified.
 During the design, do not arrange the figures beyond the cutting
   boundaries (outside the yellow box), or do not keep two figures apart too
   much in order not to waste the materials, or do not superimpose two
   figures because such cut product is invalid.

      The parameters in the legends in the Manual are for examples. Please
   refer to various actually debugged machine parameters for specific values.

    Chapter 1: Setup of Control System
1.1 Functional Features of Control System


 Support graphic data format such as AI, DXF and PLT etc. and receive
    international standard G code generated by MasterCam, Type3 and Artcut
    software etc.
 Direct abstract AutoCAD font profile when importing DXF figures.
 Support inputting TrueType fonts and characters and directly cut and process
    the input characters.
 Typeset and edit the graphic image data after invoking(e.g. zoom, rotate,
    align, copy, group, ungroup, smooth and merge etc.) after the system invokes
    the graphic image data.
 Support array copy for single figure.
 Legally inspect the imported data, e.g. enclosure, overlap, self-intersection,
    detection of distance between figures in order to ensure there is no over
    cutting and waste of materials during the cutting.
 Automatically calculate the lead-in and lead-out lines of the figures to be cut
    in order to ensure the smoothness of the cut surface based on the cutting type,
    internal and external relation and intervening relation.
 Randomly modify the initial figure cutting position and processing direction
    of the figures to be cut and the system will dynamically adjust the positions
    of lead-in and lead-out lines based on the craft requirements.
 Automatically optimize the processing sequence or manually adjust it in
    order to reduce the time and enhance the processing productivity.
 May output data by layers; May define the parameters such as output
    velocity, turn-off acceleration, time delay and so on for each layer and save
    the tailored parameters for each layer. Adjust the output sequence between
    the layers, set up the layer output times and whether to output the layer
    data.

 Select the figures to output; Support processing local data in a random
    position and be useful for compensating materials specially; and use the
    cutting function to locally process the figures.
 On-time adjust the processing speed during the procession.
 With unique breakpoints and broken-knives treatment, the forward and
    backward movements along the rail may be made during the process, flexibly
    handling the breakpoints and broken-knives accidents during the procession.
 Automatically harness the materials based on the figures to be cut and raw
    material size (optional functional module).


1.2 Composition of Control System


    The control system consists of two parts: hardware (control card) and
    software). The hardware is composed of a piece of motion control card; and
    the software composed of control software and softdog. The whole control
    system is concluded in a packaging box and the software is burnt in a disc.

1.3 Setup of Control Card


1.3.1 Requirements on PC configuration


    Operating system:Window2000、Win XP;
    CPU: Celeron 433 or above;


    Main board: at least a PCI extension slot and a USB interface;

1.3.2 Auto Setup


The installing control software (see Section 1.3 for details) will install the drivers
of the control card automatically.


1.3.3 Manual Setup


    Generally, the driver of the control card can be finished in the auto Setup.
    However, the driver is not probably installed due to damage of the installing
    wizard sometimes. The manual Setup is required under this occasion.
    For instance, the operating system is installed in C disk.
    Copy the Mpc03lx.inf in [card] folder under the root of [Install] to
    C:\WINDOWS\INF;
    Copy the MPC03LS.SYS in [card] folder under the root of [Install] to
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS.
    When at Setup, shall be aware of the version of operating system. If the
    operating system is Win2000, you shall copy the driver files under the root of
    Windows2000; if WinXP, you shall copy the driver files under the root of
    WindowsXP.


1.4 Setup of Control Software


    Run Setup.exe and pop up the following dialog box:

Version type: select the software version desired to set up. The independent
version of software is only supplied.

Installing path: C:\Carton cut10 in default; Click      to change the installing
path.
Click【Install】.
Note: the softdog shall be inserted when the system is running and shall
be kept carefully. If missed, you shall repurchase it.

 2.3 Make Graphic Data


The graphic data may be made by means of professional plotting software (such
as CoreDraw, AutoCAD and Mastercam etc.). This software supports the files in
code formats of AI, PLT, DXF and NC with a simplified plotting function.


2.4 Date Check


    Date check includes the following operations:
    Figure enclosure check
    Overlap check
    Self-intersection check
    Intersection check amid the graphics


2.5 Edition and Typeset


    The edition and typeset include the following operations:
    Basically operate the graphic data, such as rotate and copy in array;
    Group and ungroup the graphic data;
    Smooth the curves and generate parallel lines etc. optimally;
    Automatically adjust the output sequence and manually adjust the data output
    sequence.


2.6 Customize Art Parameter


    For the art parameters, the following operations are included:
    Plot out the layers;
    Set parameters such as velocity and turn-off velocity etc.;
    Set layer output sequence etc.


2.7 Processing and Output


    The processing and output include the following operations:

             Chapter 3: Make Graphic Data
2.1 Plot with Professional Drawing Software


    The graphic data may be made by means of professional drawing software
    (such as CoreDraw and Auto CAD etc.). This software supports the files in
    formats of such codes as AI, PLT, DXF and NC etc. It is advised that the
    vector graphic files are saved as AI or DXF format so that the cutting quality
    may be multiplied.


3.2 Plot with Drawing Tools


3.2.1 Line


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Plot lines: draw any line by clicking this button and dragging the mouse on
    the screen. Draw a horizontal line by dragging the mouse while pressing
    “Ctrl” key.


3.2.2 Rectangle


    It is corresponded to icon       on the toolbar.

         Draw rectangles: draw rectangles of any size by pressing this button and
    dragging the mouse on the screen. Draw a square by dragging the mouse
    while pressing “Ctrl” key.


3.2.3 Broken Line


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Draw any broken line: draw any broken line by pressing this button and
    dragging the mouse on the screen. Automatically enclose the lines by

    dragging the mouse while pressing “Ctrl” key.



3.2.4 Ellipse


It is corresponded to the icon    on the toolbar.
    Draw any ellipse: draw any ellipse by pressing this button and dragging the
    mouse on the screen. Draw a circle by dragging the mouse while pressing
    “Ctrl” key.


3.2.5 Bezier Curve


    It is corresponded to the icon      on the toolbar.

    Draw Bezier curves: draw Bezier curves by pressing this button and dragging
    the mouse on the screen.


3.2.6 Text


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Pop up the following dialog box by clicking this button and dragging the
    mouse on the screen.




    The character size (height), space between characters and font etc. may be set
    in the above dialog box.

    If desired to edit the text, click this button, and then drag the mouse on the
    text to be edited to pop up the dialog box of “Text Edit” for test amendment.
    In the text tool, a function of dimensioning along the selected object is
    furnished and is operated as follows:
    Firstly select the figure to be dimensioned, and then select the “Text”
    function, drag the mouse on the figure to be dimensioned and the reminding
    info will pop up.




    Select “Yes” to input the text as in following results:




Caption: the software will directly convert the text into vector graphics for direct
cutting after the text is input.


3.2.7 Group


     Group the separated figures

     Chapter 4: Create Engineering Files
4.1 Create


    It is corresponded to the icon        on the toolbar.

    Create processing file: it is advised that an engineering file is created and the
    new figures shall not be imported by deleting the original data.


4.2 Open


    It is corresponded to the icon        on the toolbar.

    Import the engineering files (﹡.ecp) with processing parameters configured.


4.3 Save


    It is corresponded to the icon       on the toolbar.

    Save the currently-edited figures and processing parameters as plasma
    processing engineering files (﹡.ecp).


4.4 Save as


    Save the saved plasma processing engineering files (﹡.ecp) as another
    plasma processing engineering file.


4.5 Import


    It is corresponded to the icon         on the toolbar.

    Import the software-supported data including ﹡.PLT, ﹡.AI, ﹡.DXF, NC
    coded etc..

            Chapter 5: Edition and Typeset
5.1 View Tools


5.1.1 Refresh


    It is corresponded to the icon      on the toolbar.
    Refresh the display screen.


5.1.2 Select


    Select figures desired to edit. The selected part may be edited, moved, deleted,
    modified in the layer and so on after a part in the figures or graphics is
    selected.


5.1.3 Zoom in


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.
    Display the graphic data by zooming it in. The graphic data may be enlarged
    by clicking the button or clicking the mouse or dragging the mouse on the
    window (the data size will not be changed virtually).


5.1.4 Zoom out


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.
    Display the graphic data by zooming it out. The graphic data may be reduced
    by clicking the button or clicking the mouse or dragging the mouse on the
    window (the data size will not be changed virtually).


5.1.5 Pan


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Recover the status before undoing.


5.2.3 Array Copy


    It is corresponded to the icon      on the toolbar.

Click “Select” button      , select the graphics required to copy in array on the

screen and finally click this button.


    Pop up the following dialog box:

    Input the corresponding parameters and then copy figures of “number of
    rows× number of columns” on the screen. The distance among the graphics is
    determined by the interval.

    Note: The virtual array       has a small calculated data quantity.


5.2.4 Rotate


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Rotate the figures. Click “Select” button       , select the figures desired to

    rotate on the screen, click the button and then pop up the dialog box as
    follows”




    Input the corresponding data so as to define the angles for rotation accurately.
    Click “Select” button, and drag mouse to rotate the selected figures
    randomly.


5.2.5 Vertical Image


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Click “Select” button     , select a figure required for image treatment on the

    window, and then click the button to execute the vertical image treatment on
    the selected figure.

5.2.6 Horizontal Image


    It is corresponded to the icon       on the toolbar.

    Click “Select” button       , select a figure required for image treatment on the

    window, and then click the button to execute the vertical image treatment on
    the selected figure.


5.2.7 Data Center


    It is corresponded to the icon        on the toolbar.

    If there is not any selected figure, the whole window is centered; if a figure is
    selected, the selected part is centered.


5.2.8 Align


    It is corresponded to the icon                              on the toolbar.

    There are totally 7 alignment modes: left, right, top, bottom, vertical,
    horizontal and center:


5.2.9 Move Data


    After selecting a figure, click” Space” key to pop up the following dialog
    box:

Input the corresponding coordinate value so as to determine the data coordinates.
In the array parameters, input the number of rows and columns and the system
will copy the currently-selected figures in array.


5.2.10 Virtual Graphic Metafile Array


    After selecting a figure, click “Space” key to pop up the dialog box above
    and set array parameters of single graphic metafile.
     Number of rows: The number of data copied in a row
    Number of columns: The number of data copied in a column.
    Row space: the clearance amid rows.
    Column space: the clearance amid columns.
    Column misalignment: the space amid 2 adjacent columns.
    Row misalignment: the space amid 2 adjacent rows.


5.3 Data Optimization Tool


5.3.1 Size


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    To zoom a figure in or out. Click “Select” button      , select the figure desired

    to zoom on the screen, and then click the button again to pop up the
    following dialog box:

    Input the desired lengths in X and Y directions and click OK button to change
    the size of the figure.

    Firstly input length value in X or Y direction and then click the button

    after the dialog box if the figure is desired to zoom in an identical scale.


5.3.2 Node Edition


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Treat the node edition for a selected figure. Click this button, display the
    nodes for the selected figure in a small box way, as shown in following fig:




    Place the mouse on the node and drag the mouse to change the shape of the
    figure.
    Place the mouse on the figure and add the nodes by doubly clicking the
    mouse after the mouse changes into a cross figure. If desired to delete the
    node, place the mouse on the node required to delete and click “Delete” key.


5.3.3 Cut


    Carry on the cut treatment for the figures. Click this button, place the mousse

   on the figure profile, and click the mouse again to produce a breakpoint,
   select a line segment required to remove and click “Delete” key to cut the
   selected figure.


5.3.4 Data Check


    Click the tool to pop up the following dialog box:




    Enclosure check: Check whether the data is enclosed or not.
    Overlap check: Check whether the processed figure has an overlapped
    position.
    Self-intersection check: Check whether the intersection exists amid points
    (based on the point overlap error).
    Intersection check: Check the intersection error amid figures (based on the
    line intersection error and distance between the figures).
    Please use these tools to inspect whether the data is normal if the abnormality
    (such as twice cutting in one line etc.) appears during the processing. The
    abnormal data discovered in the inspection will be indicated in red. The
    operations, such as delete, node edition and so on can be selected and
    whether the data is overlapped shall be inspected.


5.3.5 Curve Smoothing


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Carry on the curve smoothing treatment in order to enhance the cutting
    velocity and stability. Select the data desired to treat and click this button to

    pop up the following dialog box:




    There are three smoothing classes: local smoothing, common smoothing and
    integral smoothing. The higher is the class (the integral smoothing class is
    highest), the smoother is the curve although the figure is changed greater.


5.3.6 Merge Connected Lines


    Merge a number of connected line segments into a segment. Click this button
    to pop up the following dialog figure after selecting the data desired to treat.




    Input an adequate “Merge Tolerance” value and the system will merge two
    segments into a segment automatically, where the distance between ends of
    two segments is less than or equal to the set value.


5.3.7 Generate Parallel Line


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.
    Externally expand or internally shrink the vector graphic data. Click this
    button to pop up the following dialog box after selecting the data desired to
    treat.

    Select a desired parameter to generate a parallel line while a layer for this
    parallel line will be generated automatically
    For the turning, there are two types: arc and straight line. Select the arc type,
    the generated line will be smoother although the turning will be deformed
    slightly.


5.4 Typesetting Tool


5.4.1 Manually-Set Output Sequence


The client can customize the processing sequence with this tool during the
cutting.
Click the Tool/Manual Ordering to pop up the following dialog box:




    Click “Reset” button, select a figure and click “Space” key or                so as to
    move the number representing the figure to the right list. The cutting process

    will be based on the sequence of the right list for the cutting path when at
    cutting.


5.4.2 Auto Adjustment of Processing Sequence


    Click “Tool/Auto Ordering” to pop up the following dialog box (or directly

    click      icon):




    Begin with logic origin: if the stopping point is on the up-left corner, then the
    figure is cut beginning from the up-left corner when at cutting process.
    Begin with the logic origin opposite: if the stopping point is on the up-left
    corner, then the figure is output beginning from the up-left corner when at
    cutting process
    Firstly output line not enclosed: firstly cut the figures not enclosed and then
    the enclosed figures.
   First internal and second external processing: first process the interiors of the
    figure and then the outer frame.
   First down and second up processing: the client can set the size of the
    “Blocking Height” based on the actual situation and the system will
    automatically output from down to up based on the set blocking height.
    Auto decision of cutting direction and initial point: the software will
    automatically add the initial position and cutting sequence of the figure
    regardless of the inflexion size of the figure.

       Begin with inflexion: this function will be effective when the “Auto Decision
       of Cutting Direction and Initial Point”. When this function is selected, the
       initial cutting point will be automatically added to the place where is
       consistent to the angle of inflexion based on the minimum angle of inflexion.


5.4.3 Array Output


       It is corresponded to the icon    on the toolbar.

       Click this button to pop up the following dialog box:




       Number: number of rows or columns of the data desired to output.
       Space: distance between rows or columns.

         Chapter 6: Define Technological
                  Parameters
6.1 Layer Management


    The customers may classify a graphic data into some layers with the hues.
    Different processing modes and ways may be set for different layers. This
    software may also recognize the layers classified by professional plotting
    software.


6.1.1 Classify Layer


    The layer toolbar is demonstrated as follows:



    At maximum, 20 layers may be set with different hues. Select a figure
    required to set the layers and then click the corresponding color button. The
    software will add a line to display the layer in the layer management window
    upon each addition of a layer.


6.1.2 Layer Attribute Management


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Click this button so as to pop up the following dialog box:

   To select whether a layer is visual or not may displays or hide the layer on the
   window.
   The layer will not be deleted, rotated and so on if a layer is locked.


6.1.3 Layer Management Window




             Select processing ways, such as cut, plot, and pinch roller as shown
             in above figure under the drop down menu of “Mode” column.




   Select whether to output this layer in the “Output” column. Output Icon with
   check box ticked indicates outputting the layer and Output icon without
   check box ticked indicates not outputting the layer.
   Input the desired processing times of the layer in the “Times” column.
   Set the inflexion acceleration for each layer in the “Inflexion Acceleration”

6.1.4 Set Layer Output Sequence


    The processing is sequenced from the up to down in the layer management
    list. If desired to change the processing sequence, select a line in the layer
    management list and click the Up or Down button.
   All: Select a layer, singly click “All” to identify the parameters in each layers
        with that of selected layers after selecting a layer parameter when there
        are many layers in the layer setup.


6.1.5 Calculation Technological Data


Click Calculation button so as to save the parameters to the processing file when
the figure is changed or the technological parameters are changed.


6.2 Cutting Parameter Setting


    Doubly click the hue marking bar in the “Layer” column to pop up the dialog
    box as shown in following fig:




6.2.1 Common Parameters Setting


    Cut Speed: the working speed of knife during the cutting.
    Inflexion acceleration: the acceleration at the inflexion when at cut speed
    change.
     (The speed at inflexion during the processing may be reduced through the
    adjustment of this parameter)

6.2.2 Advanced Parameters Setting


    Singly click       icon to pop up the parameters (advanced) dialog box as

    shown in following fig:




  Stop speed: set the stopping angle for the knives at the positions where are
  required to change during the cutting process.
  Lift speed: set the stopping angle for the knives at the positions where are
  required to change during the cutting process.
  Front-end compensation: the process will begin at the X distance of positive
  direction from the initial point if the front-end compensation is a positive value;
  and the process will begin at the X distance of negative direction from the
  initial point if the front-end compensation is a negative value.
  Back-end compensation: the process will be shortened to stop at X distance of
  positive direction from the ending points if the back-end compensation is a

7.1 Set Initial Cut Position/Lead-in and Lead–out Lines


7.1.1 Set Initial Cut Position


Click the icon    .

    The system will customize the initial cut position (generally at the
    intersection of two segmental lines) and cut direction automatically according
    to the figure. Select a figure desired to set the initial cut position, click this
    button, and then move the mouse, which will change into a cross figure, to
    the figure desired to edit if desired to modify the initial cut position and cut
    direction. Click the mouse at any position on the figure to set it as an initial
    cut position. Click “F” key to change the cut direction, as shown in following
    figure:




7.2 Simulative Processing &Output


7.2.1 Simulative Processing & Output


    It is corresponded to the icon     on the toolbar.

    Click this button to simulate output and check the output results after the
    processing parameters are set well. The speed of simulated processing can be
    set randomly. Click “Esc” key or press the Stop button on the control panel to
    terminate the display of simulative results.

7.3 Control Panel




7.3.1 Manual Control


    With the manual manipulation, the machine can be controlled in the fixed
    step length and knife rotation. The manual control can be found in the control
    panel, as shown in following fig:

    Origin: The machine nose will move to the origin slowly (idle load speed
    (slow)) firstly and then to the origin quickly (no-load speed (quick) after this
    button is clicked. With the function, the accumulative error can be
    illuminated and generally the accumulative error is illuminated once before
    the process is inaugurated. The origin will be automatically recovered when
    the software is launched (or optionally, no automatic origin recovery).
    Slow: the work bench will move slowly after this option is selected.
    Stepping: the work bench will move a “stepping distance” after this button is
    clicked.
    Stepping distance: refer to a distance of each movement when the movement
    by stepping is set.
    Stepping angle: refer to an angle of each rotation when the knife rotation is
    set.
    Refer to the rotary direction of a knife.

  Infrared light alignment cut: select check box of infrared light alignment, place

    Border cut: the machine nose will cut a rectangle idly according to the
    processing data. This function is mainly used to determine the required rough
    size of the paperboard materials to be processed.

7.3.5 Machining Process Control




    Begin: launch the machining process.
    Pause: temporarily stop the processing. At this time, press Pause to execute
           the breakpoints processing if the path: system setting -> control
           card-> select to track with trajectories, is set up.
    Stop: stop machining process and abort the processing.


7.4 Breakpoint Processing




7.4.1 Breakpoint Processing


Major function of breakpoint processing:During the process, move the machine
nose forwards or backwards along the trajectories.
Duing the process, in case of the following circumstances, the breakpoint
processed will be applied in order to enhance the productivity greatly.
Knife damage: During the cut, if the knife happens to damage, press Pause button
            to stop machining and the machine nose will stop moving
            intermediately. With the manual motion command, the machine nose
            will be moved to a position where it is treated conveniently. After the
            machine nose is handled, select Return to position where the process
            is terminated so as to continue the process.


7.4.2 Clear Breakpoints


Clear breakpoints: used for the power failure memory. When the “Mechanic

              Chapter 8: Machine Setting
The machine setting menu is used to configure the initial parameters of the
cutting lathe. It is an advanced configuration and will produce significance
on the machine if modified. The user shall modify these parameters under
the instructions of the factory if desired to do so due to special seasons.


8.1 Machine Setting Window

    In the box, the basic manufacturer information is offered and may be
    amended in file syscfg.ini.


8.1.2 Service Time of Machine

8.2 Work Bench Setting


Warn: this document is mainly supplied for the producer of the cutting lathe
to install and commission the machine. The machine will be caused failures if
the user makes bold to amends any parameter.




    Y axle represents for the horizontal one (small truckle) and the X axle for
   vertical one (big truckle).


8.2.1 Impulse Equivalent




The control system emits an impulse, a motion distance of machine nose. Click
the button to pop up the following dialog box:

In above figure, 20.400000 shows that the motion distance of the machine nose
when the stepping motor revolves by one turn is 20.400000 mm and 6400 shows
that the impulse required for each revolution of the stepping motor if 6400 and the
subdivision of the driver is 32.

 8.2.2 Breadth of Work Bench




     Refer to the max. range of the cutting gun head moving in X and Y direction.



 8.2.3 Direction of Origin




     The right side of X axle is positive and the up side of Y axle is positive, too.
     Shall ensure the position where the switch is installed in origin corresponding
     to the set option.
     Note: P represents for the positive direction and N for negative direction.


 8.2.4 Speed of Return to Origin



     Speed of return to origin: Refer to speed of return to origin. This value shall
      be not too greater; otherwise the origin switch may be damaged.


 8.2.5 Takeoff Speed




     Takeoff speed: Refer to the initial speed of the motion along X and Y axles.
      The machine may vibrate too much if this value is too greatly.

8.2.6 Uniform Velocity




    Uniform speed: This parameter defines the upper limit of the velocity at
    constant motion(cut), i.e., if the set processing velocity is lower than this
    value, it will be a constant motion; and if the set processing velocity is higher
    than this value, it will be a uniform motion.



8.2.7 No-load Velocity




    No-load velocity: During the process, when the cutting is not made, it refers
    to the max. speed when the machine is running.


8.2.8 Processing Accelerated Velocity




    Processing accelerated velocity: Refer to the accelerated Velocity when the
    machining is made along X and Y axles.


8.2.9 No-load Accelerated Velocity



    No-load accelerated velocity: Refer to the accelerated velocity at motion
    along the X and Y axles.


8.2.10 Manually-moving Velocity (Fast)




    Manually-moving velocity (fast): After the“Return to Origin upon Powering
    Machine” menu is selected, it refers to the velocity when the machine is

8.4 Cutting Setting




8.4.1 Discrete Curve Length




    Discrete curve length: The smaller is this value, the higher will be the
   precision of the figures although the calculation speed will be slowed and the
   processing velocity will be affected. Generally, when the organic glass is
   cutting, the smaller value may be selected(less than 0.01) and the default
   value for other materials to be cut. This parameter only regards to the
   *.AI,*.DXF files.


8.4.2 Min. Speed Droop Angle

Refer to the min. angle when the cutting lathe is dropping its speed during the
run.

8.4.3 Arc Speed Configuration




Set up the parameters when the small circle is cut in a high-speed. If the
parameter is set adequately, the cutting quality of the circle will be enhanced
massively. Doubly click a line in the above list (or select a line and click
“Modify”) to pop up the following dialog box:




    Min. radius and max. radius: set up the range of the circle size.
    Cut speed: set up the velocity for cutting the circles within the range of the
    set speed.
    Click “Add” to set the speed for cutting the small circles according to
    different velocity range. It is advised that the max. radius shall be not over 5.

The knife and pen are set in an identical origin through the offsets set in the X
and Y direction. After the Verify button is clicked, the cutting lathe will firstly
plot a rectangle and then the knife will cut along the trajectories of the rectangle.
Measure the distance between the cut lines in X and Y directions and the stroke
segments with rulers. Complete the measured data in the pertinent blanks in
above box (the pinch roller, knife and infrared light are set in the same manner).
