paTriCia QUinn
Executive Director—My Father’s House of Erie The dream of opening a transitional home for abused women and their children has been in her heart since 1989. As a mental health counselor, Quinn would see women from all socio-economic classes abused beyond recognition, displaced at work and without shelter. As part of her former responsibilities as a team leader, she would assist groups of workers to provide appropriate care, supportive counseling and work with community agencies to obtain housing referrals and medical/mental health services. Her first-hand experience of shame, guilt and low self-esteem in two abusive marriages further empassioned her to want to create safe environments and support the education of life and its relationship skills for women. For more than 20 years, she has served in various capacities: as a nursing assistant, counselor/case worker, surgery technician, and drug & alcohol counselor. As a 1993 Gannon University graduate holding a B.S., she logs countless hours of service time to non-profits and institutions, i.e., special skills for women in prison. Grant writing, program policies, procedures, budgets and financial plans have all been part of her tasks in growing My Father’s House of Erie.

Connie Miller

Projects Administrator—My Father’s House of Erie Working as a Director for a women’s care center in 1999, Miller met hundreds of women who were wounded, lost and searching for guidance and healing due to devastating experiences of abuse both as children and as adults. As she came to understand the destructive effects of domestic violence and sexual abuse on these women and children, she made a vow that she would commit the rest of her life to extending mercy, opportunities and assistance to women in need in her community. Miller became one of the original board members of My Father’s House of Erie in 1999. Since that time she has volunteered countless hours of service in the writing of grants, working on fundraising events, and attending classes and workshops to prepare to open the program. In 2003 she was employed at a residential youth detention center and studied group facility operations. Yet, she found it unfulfilling compared to helping women overcome dark life situations. In 2004 she coordinated the renovation project to rehab the 4,400 sq. ft. building that now serves as the main program house for My Father’s House of Erie. Miller and her husband, David, have raised two biological sons and three adopted daughters. She has been a vocal advocate for adoption of children with special needs and has volunteered as a labor coach and assisted in pre-natal classes and life skills education.
