The Canberra Club is Canberra's first licensed club and as such, has a rich heritage and a proud tradition. The Club, a
cosmopolitan meeting place with a diverse patronage, is located in a prestigious, inner-city venue and boasts a stately
elegance. The Club has excellent facilities and features friendly, personalised service.

While you are visiting our Club, please take time to have a look at our facilities, simply ask our Reception staff to assist you.

Members may enjoy facilities for business and private functions, fine dining, an excellent wine list, leisure and sporting
activities. The Canberra Club enjoys reciprocal rights with over 70 clubs nationally and internationally.

Whether you join us for business or pleasure, I know that Club staff will make your visit to our Club enjoyable and
memorable.



Information about membership, facilities, or reciprocal clubs maybe obtained from Reception or from the General Office on
the 1st floor.

The Canberra Club Function venue is located on the 1st floor, of our newly refurbished Club, located in the Heart of civic.

Our fun, Dedicated and professional functions team are always on hand to assist you with every detail required, from the
preliminary inquiry, to the day of your event. They are committed to making your event a care free success.

The function rooms are able to cater for all your function requirements: Small business meeting/seminar, Formal dinner,
wedding/engagement, special events, trivia night, birthday parties or even a small concert.......

Our Function rooms are installed with all the latest equipment (data display, surround sound, internet access)

Brindabella Room
Brindabella Room is suitable for conference and seminars with the capacity to seat 80 people theatre style or dinners and
celebrations of up to 60 people.

Woden is the heart of the Canberra Southern Cross Club. It is where the Club was first
founded and is the biggest venue of all six.

The recent addition of the state-of-the-art Events Centre has propelled it into a new league, making it a serious contender
for the National Capital’s top conference and event venue. For years Woden’s main entertainment venue, Top of the Cross,
has been providing the Canberra community with a constant line-up of quality, live entertainment. Woden also boasts three
affordable quality restaurants, ranging from award-winning contemporary French cuisine to bistro fare and features two
fantastic children’s play areas. Centrally located in the heart of Woden’s CBD, it provides members with plenty of secure,
under-cover parking and a range of other great facilities.

The entire upstairs floor at the Southern Cross Club in Woden is dedicated to event, catering and conference space. With
eight beautifully-appointed reception rooms and interchangeable walls and seating configurations, we can cater for every
type of occasion, budget and taste: from an intimate family gathering to a stylish gala ball.

Top of the Cross
The Top of the Cross is the second largest of the Club’s function rooms, accommodating up to 340 guests for a sit down
dinner. Featuring a sunken dance floor and raised stage, superior light and sound equipment, a large bar and amenities it is
ideal for large weddings and dinner-dance events and has been used to host numerous successful concerts and dinner shows
over the years.

Orion Room
The Orion Room is also equipped with full facilities, from a serviced bar, built-in dance floor, ceiling party lights and
shimmers, full amenities, CD player, a wall-mounted television and video unit and views of the distant mountains. With a
seating capacity of 100 guests for dinner and 120 for a conference the room is ideal for any medium sized event or seminar.

Private Dining Room
The salubrious intimacy of the Private Dining Room has a romantic and comfortable atmosphere. Featuring a CD system for
guest use and adjustable dimmer lights it is the perfect venue for smaller weddings, anniversaries and family celebrations.

The recent and most impressive jewel in the crown for the Canberra Southern Cross Club is the purpose-built Southern Cross
Events Centre. Furnished with the latest in contemporary décor including imported Italian chandeliers, custom-designed
carpet and the highest quality fittings and accessories, it can cater for 700 for dinner and 1000 for a cocktail event.

Equipped with the latest in audio visual technology including PA systems, large drop down motorised screens, video and data
projectors, stage lights and floor and stage boxes, every room configuration has access to video, audio and data inputs. And
all equipment is backed by in-house technical partners, Elite Sound and Lighting, Canberra’s leading audio-visual production
suppliers.

The Southern Cross Events Centre can cater for functions and events from large gala balls and weddings to smaller seminars
and workshops.

Southern Cross Yacht Club.

Enjoy the picturesque scenery through floor to ceiling windows from the stylish comfort inside, dine al fresco on the
weather-protected balcony, eat fish and chips on the lawns in summer or linger over a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast as
you watch the sunrise.

It’s also home to the wonderful MV Southern Cross that departs daily for chartered tours of the lake, dinner cruises and
special events or through private bookings for that celebratory occasion.

MV Southern Cross
Featuring fully enclosed, air- conditioned dining or outer decks for al fresco cruising and can pick up or set down at any jetty
around the lake foreshore including the National Museum, Regatta Point and Springbank Island. The boat holds up to 90
guests for a cocktail party, 75 for a sit-down dinner and 55 for a buffet.

The Lotus Room
For a more intimate venue, the Lotus Room features floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake, an in-house music system
and PA and has a seating capacity of 45 — perfect for formal dining occasions such as small family weddings and
anniversaries

The Lakeside Marquee
Situated only 30 metres from the edge of the lake, the Lakeside Marquee fronts onto manicured lawns, unimpeded views of
the water and shady poplar trees. Featuring a silk-lined ceiling, gas jet heating, a fixed floating floor, a mobile bar and fairy
lights around the perimeter, the Marquee is perfect for events catering up to 100 for dinner and dancing and 140 for a
cocktail party.



Jamison
North-side members can enjoy the fantastic Southern Cross Club service and quality at
our Jamison venue.

Recently refurbished, the Club offers stylish indoor and al fresco dining areas, a children’s outdoor play area, beautiful
lawns and a choice of affordable menus ranging from brasserie specials to gourmet pizzas. Best of all, there’s plenty of free
parking!

Having recently been renovated, Jamison now boasts two stylishly- appointed function rooms, a fabulous al fresco dining
area, superior catering and a range of packages to suit any party budget.

Situated only a few minutes’ drive away from the Belconnen CBD, it’s a perfect venue for conferences, offering an outdoor
area for BBQ events and plenty of free parking.

Function Room
As the larger of the two functions areas, the Functions Room features an in-built stage and access to an outdoor area,
making it perfect for large family gatherings, presentations or fund-raising dinner-dances.

Catchpole Room
Featuring a mezzanine level, its own bar and floor to ceiling windows, the Catchpole Room has the perfect ambience for
intimate functions and conferences.
he Hellenic Conference, Entertainment and Banqueting Centre is located on the 1st floor of Canberra’s most prestigious and
well appointed registered club.

Our experienced and professional staff are always on hand to assist with every detail required, from the preliminary

Olympus Room

The Olympus Room is our premier room designed with the larger function in mind. With the
capacity to seat 750 people theatre style or dinners and weddings of up to 450 with a dance
floor or 550 without makes the Olympus Room perfect for the larger event. The Olympus Room
is fitted with a comprehensive range of technical facilities to ensure that your function or
conference runs smoothly.




Apollo Room

The Apollo Room is suitable for conference and seminars with the capacity to seat 180 people
theatre style or dinners and weddings of up to 140 people.




Aegean Room

The Aegean Room is ideal for the medium sized function or business presentation. With a
maximum capacity of 150 people theatre style or 160 people for dinner, the Aegean Room has
facilities that much larger rooms would envy.
Orpheus Room

The Orpheus Room is suitable for small functions or business presentations of up to 40 people.
With all the conference equipment available including TV and video, overhead projectors, data
projectors, and whiteboards as well as direct dial telephone if needed, the Orpheus Room is
fully equipped for today’s meeting and functions needs.




Delphi Room

The Delphi Room caters for a maximum of 10 people boardroom style. This makes the Delphi
Room ideal for small presentations, interviews or executive meetings. The room boasts an
impressive list of facilities including audio visual equipment & direct dial telephones along with
an ensuite and powder room.
