STATEMENT OF WORK
LIVE TRAPPING AND RELOCATION OF BEAVERS
I. Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, parts, materials, facilities and
transportation necessary to provide live trapping and relocation of beavers
inhabiting (waterway) on (base).
II. Performance: 30 to 90 days, as required to assure all beavers have been
III. Contractor shall provide
A. Live Trapping: Will be done in accordance with approved methods and
with the appropriate sized Have-A-Hart and/or approved live animal traps.
Traps will be baited with apples, carrots, yams, etc.
B. Siting Traps: On land and/or in the water in such a manner as to assure
the beaver will not be injured or killed. Traps on land will have the sides
draped with a dark material with both ends of the traps open to give the
effect of a tunnel.
C. Trap Inspection/Orientation of Trap Inspection Personnel: Inspection of
the traps shall be on a dusk to dawn basis by the contractor and/or
volunteer assistants. Beavers must be cleared from the traps in a timely
D. Integrity of the beaver family unit shall be maintained.
E. Water tank for interim holding facility.
F. Relocation to an AF/Wild Life Care approved site.
IV. Government shall provide:
A. Interim holding facility and care-taking (daily food and water).
B. Site control during trapping operations.
