POSITION TITLE: Program Assistant; Program Development Dept.
OBJECTIVE: Provide program assistance related to planning and program development in the
Bristol Bay region.
QUALIFICATIONS: Job qualifications are stated below as Essential Job Results. The
Essential Job Results are what the employee must be able to accomplish in order to be
competent in the job. High School Diploma or equivalent. Three years office experience,
preferably in a similar service. Computer proficient using word processing and data base
programs (especially Excel). Strong organizational, writing and reading skills. Willing to
develop skills related to Program Development’s range of activities. Must be able to work with
supervisor directives paying close attention to detail and with minimal supervision. Familiarity
with the Bristol Bay area, people and cultures is desirable. Must be willing to work in summer
months due to workload. Willing and able to travel in/out of region (occasional).
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS
Provide clerical and supportive services for programs housed within the Program
Developing a basic understanding of PDD programs, regulations, functions, policies &
Processing supply and equipment orders
Maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment
Copying, faxing, and filing
Preparing correspondence for mailing and maintaining a postage log
Assisting staff with travel arrangements and processing travel authorizations
Maintaining a shared “Work Plan/Calendar” for staff to use in planning activities and events
Participating in and taking minutes at departmental staff meetings
Assisting with occasional research or fact finding for staff, including telephone and or village
Provide assistance with meeting preparation
Helping to ensure departmental sponsored meetings (includes workshops and conferences)
are well organized with adequate notice and optimal participation by setting up
teleconferences as needed, reserving space, and communicating with participants
Putting together agendas and packets and ensuring adequate delivery time
Making participant travel arrangements and processing travel authorizations
Recording meetings, taking notes and assisting with meeting summaries or minutes (Travel is
expected to be occasional)
Keeps Management Informed
Keeping a daily log of activities for any relevant statistics and monthly reports
Preparing a comprehensive monthly report.
Protect program integrity and client privacy
Agreeing to BBNA’s policy on confidentiality, keeping confidential information gained
through employment secure, during and after this employment.
Contribute to the overall team effort

DUTY STATION: Dillingham Central Office
SALARY: $30,000/yr – $46,000
