The Breakers Diving and Surfing Lodge to open in Soma Bay in 2009
The luxurious Red Sea resort destination of Soma Bay is opening its gates to a wider
market next year with the opening of The Breakers Diving and Surfing Lodge. This
exciting new development is scheduled to open in February 2009 and is designed to
appeal to divers, windsurfers and kite surfers looking for reasonably priced
accommodation in one of the Red Sea’s finest locations for water sports.
The Breakers will offer quality and affordable lodging in 173 comfortable guest rooms
equipped with all modern amenities. The hotel is situated directly opposite the magnificent
Soma Bay house reef and adjacent to the well-equipped Dive Centre managed by Orca
Dive Clubs. Most of the guest rooms have extraordinary views of the house reef, lagoon,
the panoramic jetty and the open sea. Perfectly situated, guests only need take a few
steps from the room to the water’s edge.
A waterfront restaurant and bar, beachside BBQs and outdoor events, sauna and heated
swimming pool will provide plenty of opportunities for relaxation after a day spent on or
under the water. Guests staying at The Breakers will also have access to Soma Bay’s
award-winning range of top class leisure facilities.
Construction work on the site is progressing well and the hotel is on schedule to in
February 2009. Stefan Reichl, the General Manager of The Breakers, has already taken
up his appointment and is excited to be bringing his many years of experience in the
hospitality and gastronomy business to Soma Bay.
