									 POSITION DESCRIPTION


Title:                  Human Resource Assistant

FLSA Status:            Full-Time Employee/Non-Exempt/Hourly

Reports to:             Human Resource Manager

Purpose:                Implement and process the plans and procedures put in place by the management of the
                        company, including but not limited to employee benefits.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
            Coordinate the employee benefits administration, including but not limited to enrolling new
             employees, cancelling terminated employees, and updating employee contact information.
            Maintain employee files, including but not limited to personnel, I9, benefits, FMLA/ADA, payroll, and
             State and Federal files.
            Coordinate intake of new employees, including but not limited to filling out paperwork, drug tests,
             and I9 verifications.
            Process employee related paperwork, including but not limited to new hire, termination, information
             and status changes, and payroll requests.
            Maintain and process DOT required paperwork, including but not limited to driver files, requests for
             information, drug results, and motor vehicle results.
            Respond to and maintain accurate records for government agencies regarding employment
             verifications and payroll, such as EDD, CODL, and other applicable State and Federal employee-
             related agencies.
            Coordinate weekly payroll with the external payroll vendor, including but not limited to formatting
             and emailing the weekly hour totals from the internal system to the vendor and making benefit and
             pay changes in HRIS.
            Maintain vehicle registrations, including but not limited to managing emissions, vehicle records, and
             yearly mileage.
            Maintain and process fuel related requests, such as new fuel cards, fuel PINs, and reporting.
            Other duties, special projects and research as assigned.


Other Duties:
            Fulfills Receptionist duties – handle incoming phone calls and package distribution and mailing (i.e.
             UPS, FedEx, etc).
            Manage office needs, including but not limited to watering plants, ordering supplies, and
             coordinating vendors for onsite needs.
            Check the mail and distribute to recipients.
            Support Marketing Dept by working with vendors to develop collateral materials (such as posters,
             contests, coupons, or give-aways, logoed apparel), customer event coordination, order literature
             and business cards.
            File all HR related paperwork.
            Assist in office filing needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):
          Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Asset, and other business
           applications.
          Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing,
           managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
          1 – 3 years applied Human Resource experience preferred.
          Detail oriented.
          Strong verbal and written communication skills.
          Strong problem resolution skills.
          Strong interpersonal/internal customer service skills.


Physical Demands / Work Environment:

          Working conditions are normal for a fast-paced office work environment.
          Mid to High-level stress.
          Prolonged sitting and telephone work at times.
          Duties may be required to stand, bend at the knees and waist, and walk.

          Overtime may be required rarely to occasionally.
          Requires constant evaluation and adjustment of priorities.
          Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods through out the day.
          Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store
           materials throughout the work day.
          May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files on occasion. Proper lifting techniques required.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the operational areas where under
certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and
mandatory hearing protection.

          Personal computer with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
          Ten-key or other advanced calculator.
          Facsimile.
          Multi-line telephone with voice mail.
          Copy machine.
          Printer.
