Lesson 1—Project 1

You are employed as the word processing specialist by Lincoln Distributors. Your business has decided to
conduct a car wash to generate funds that will be donated to a local charity. Your committee decides to
conduct the charity car wash on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 10 A.M. until 3 P.M. The committee
chairperson received permission to use the local municipal stadium’s parking lot as a central location to
conduct the car wash.

Lesson 2—Exercise 1

As a new office assistant, you need to create several items for your personal use at the office. You
determine that it would be helpful to have personalized business cards and stationery in your office.
Choose any style of business card you would like to create using your personal information. Change the
font type for the entire publication to Arial Rounded MT Bold.

Once the appropriate layout for the business card is set, group the name and title into one group and
the address lines into another group (street, city, state, ZIP Code, and telephone number). Save the
publication with the file name Lesson2_ex1a in the appropriate storage location. Close the publication.

Your next task is to create personalized stationery for your interoffice communication. Create a blank
publication. Insert a heading (style = Pure) and align the heading toward the top of the publication.
Enter your personal information into the heading area.

Change the color scheme of the publication to Module. Insert a border at the bottom of the publication
to further accentuate the publication (Border Type = Argyle). Align and resize the border along the
bottom portion of the stationery.

Save the publication with the file name Lesson2_ex1b in the appropriate storage location. Close the
publication and Microsoft Publisher 2010.

Save the publication with the file name Lesson2_project1 in the appropriate storage location. Close the
