To provide and develop a specialised service based on Microsoft SharePoint 2010, to
facilitate collaborative working within the University. The installation, recently rebranded
TeamBuilder within Warwick, is provided primarily to allow a large number of small groups to
collaborate with internal and external co-workers. TeamBuilder is one of many web based
systems available to members of the University of Warwick.

You will be comfortable working on your own initiative, within the team and with customers
who may be University staff at all levels. You will be able to prioritise and manage your
workload effectively to provide a flagship service to the University.


        1. The design, development and maintenance of solutions, based on SharePoint 2010
           and related technologies, using best practices.

        2. The customisation and maintenance of the SharePoint platform as appropriate, this
           may include custom master pages, custom layouts, custom event handlers,
           templates, and custom web parts in conjunction with the SharePoint Administrator.

        3. Liaison with customers and IT Services to understand what is the most appropriate
           and timely method of delivering a solution to customers in a fairly complex IT
           landscape. This may involve meeting with staff at all levels to understand their
           requirements, and understanding how these fit with the University’s business needs.

        4. Effective time and priority management, including maintaining documentation on
           various in-house systems (e.g. JIRA).

        5. The provision of support and documentation to customers of the SharePoint service,
           responding effectively to SharePoint based support queries. These will normally
           come in the form of support calls raised via the HelpDesk, which cannot be
           answered by front-line support.

        6. The provision of support to the Training Team to enable comprehensive end user
           level training.
        7. The development of custom workflows, web parts or dashboards that support the
           business of the University.

        8. Other duties, as required, in line with the nature and grading of the role.
