12   HIGH SCHOOL IN LEXINGTON COUNTY WHO RECEIVED
13   STATEWIDE    DECA    AWARDS     IN   MARKETING
14   COMPETITION IN COLUMBIA RECENTLY, COMMEND
15   THEM FOR THEIR ACADEMIC PROWESS AND
16   ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT, AND WISH THEM AND THEIR
17   TEACHER AND ADVISOR, CARL VADASZ, WELL AS THEY
18   COMPETE ON THE NATIONAL LEVEL APRIL 26-29, 2003,
19   IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA.

21   Whereas, White Knoll High School in Lexington County boasts a
22   successful marketing, management, and entrepreneurial DECA
23   program, led by twenty year veteran teacher and advisor, Carl
24   Vadasz; and
25
26   Whereas, the DECA students participated in marketing
27   competitions recently in Charleston, where they captured six first
28   places, five second places, four third places, one fourth place, and
29   two fifth places in statewide competition; and
30
31   Whereas, these students and the DECA program have brought
32   honor to themselves, their school, and the State. All the winners,
33   the DECA program, and Mr. Vadasz have earned the deep respect
34   of the citizens of this State; and
35
36   Whereas, the winners and their areas are: First Place Winners:
37   Amanda Brown, Hospitality and Recreation Marketing Research
38   and a National DECA Scholarship Finalist; Brandi Revels,
39   Hospitality and Recreation Marketing Research; Adrian Petty,
40   E-Commerce Business Plan; Amanda Roll, Hospitality and
41   Recreation Management; Jessica Phillips, Hospitality and
42   Recreation Management; and Devon Streeter, Quick Serve

13   Whereas, the first and second place winners have the extraordinary
14   opportunity April 26-29 in Orlando, Florida, to further distinguish
15   themselves in the spotlight of national competition and we wish
16   them well. Now, therefore,

18   Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
19   concurring:
20
21   That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution,
22   congratulate the students of White Knoll High School in Lexington
23   County who received statewide DECA awards in marketing
24   competition in Columbia recently, commend them for their
25   academic prowess and entrepreneurial spirit, and wish them and
26   their teacher and advisor, Carl Vadasz, well as they compete on the
27   national level April 26-29, 2003, in Orlando, Florida.

29   Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
30   Carl Vadasz and the DECA students.
