1. Scoil Eoin lays strong emphasis on punctual regular school
attendance. All children are requested to be in the line when the bell
rings at 09.00.
The Roll is called each morning at 10.30.
The account of numbers present is sent to the Principal.
The Principal enters the attendance in the Leabhar Tinrimh Laethúil.
Each Friday roll books are sent to the Secretary’s office.
They are checked and returned.
At the end of each month the Principal balances roll books against the
‘Leabhar Tinrimh Laethúil’.

Full attendance certificates are given out at the end of each term i.e.

4. POOR ATTENDANCE
Where children have poor attendance:
a. I discuss the problem with teacher.
b. I phone or write to the parents.
c. Once the student is absent for 15 days a letter stating the attendance
record is sent to parents.
d. Once the student is absent for 20 days Parents and N.E.W.B. officer
Reports on our school attendance are sent to N.E.W.B. as required. Mr.
P.J. Mc Namara attendance welfare officer visits the school monthly. He
is given a written report of the attendance of those students who have
missed more than 20 days. He visits the homes or writes to the families
