From the Pastor’s Desk…
                   Parish Council Meeting - Monday, March 12 at 7:30 PM - Nazareth Institute.
 Our goal for the 2012 Annual Catholic Appeal is $71,000. In Pew solicitations the weekends of March
                    17 & 18 and March 25 & 25. I ask for your continued generosity.
Thurs., April 26 is our Annual School Spring Fling. Tickets are $50 and can be obtained at the Rectory or School.

 Community Meeting, Thurs., Mar. 22, 2012 in school auditorium at 7pm. We want to update everyone
 on the Bay Parkway property and discuss the resolution and future plans. Also, I want to thank every-
            one for their generosity in helping us meet the final expenses for our attorney.
                                       It was greatly appreciated.
Our food pantry is in need of certain canned goods: tuna fish, chicken breast, green vegetables & fruits.
                    Also needed are cereal, non dairy powdered milk, coffee and tea.

                                FASTING:
All Catholics between the ages 18 and 59 are bound to fast on Ash                       Tues., Mar 13 - 9:45 am
Wednesday and Good Friday. Fasting means limiting oneself to a
single full meal and avoiding food between meals. Two very light
meals are permitted.

                              ABSTINENCE:
All Catholics who have reached their 14th year are bound to Ab-
stain totally from meat on All Fridays of Lent.
                             EASTER DUTY:
After a person has received First Communion, he or she must re-
ceive Communion at least once a year, during the Easter Season.
The Easter Season begins with the First Sunday of Lent (Feb. 26th)
and continues until Trinity Sunday (June 3rd).
Reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is en-
couraged during Lent, especially if you have been away from Sun-
day Mass.

                            III DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
                                 11 DE MARZO DE 2012
La moneda romana tenía la imagen del César o de los ídolos romanos. Esa imagen convertía
la moneda en inaceptable para su uso en el templo. Habia que cambiarla por moneda acept-
able a la ley Judia. Por otro lado, no era practico traer animales desde lejos, asi que tambien
se vendian ahi. Todo esto se hacia en el atrio del templo, no dentro. Jesús se irrita por la falta
de devoción y piedad verdaderas y por los abusos e injusticias de los mercaderes.

Jesús sentía un gran celo por la casa de su Padre, por que sabía que el templo debia ser el
lugar sagrado de la presencia de Dios, donde el pueblo se prepararia para conocerlo a Él, el
Nuevo templo.

Es imprescindible ver que Cristo es la nueva imagen de Dios, el Nuevo comienzo de lo que
Dios realiza en y para su pueblo, y que el Padre ha depositado en Cristo su infinito poder que
es mucho mas fuerte que el poder humano, y su inagotable sabiduria que es mas sabia que la
sabiduria humana.

Ahora : Comprenderemos que todo el plan de Dios se cumple plenamente en la persona de
Cristo? Vemos que Jesús es el cumplimiento de todas las promesas de Dios? Ojala acepte-
mos que Cristo es el Nuevo templo de Dios, el unico camino, la unica verdad, la unica vida.

ish Calendar & Room Request Form. The form is available in the rectory or can be downloaded from our website. We even
have an E-form so you complete this form without writing. Just e-mail it back to us, or print it out and drop it off. All Requests
must be made using our form. E-mail completed form to AnnaMarie Scuteri at annamariesta@hotmail.com. This is the ONLY
way to reserve a room here at St. A's. The group listed on the parish calendar is the group that has the right to use that
space. If you are not a designated ministry of our parish, permission must be granted from our Pastor, Msgr. Cassato, a rental
fee is paid, and a lease agreement completed in order to use space.

Sunday Bulletin Deadlines The Sunday Bulletin must be e-mailed to our printer by 10a.m. Monday. All announcements must be
submitted in WRITTEN form only (handwritten, typed, computer, fax, e-mailed, etc) by 3p.m. Friday. Announcements received
after the deadline will be published the following week. No one on the parish staff will assume the responsibility for your ministry’s
articles. Include your bulletin articles in your advance planning for your event. All Flyers need to be approved by a staff member
