Quick Alerts for Tax Professionals October 30, 2009 e-file Resources Subject: Acknowledgement File and Submission Manifest Changes QuickAlerts Library QuickAlerts Article QuickAlerts Brochure e-file for Tax Pros Software Developers IRS.gov Home Online Services Refund Cycle Chart For Processing Year 2010, the IRS made changes to the IRS Submission Manifest, State Submission Manifest, and acknowledgement schemas. The changes forced a schema version change to all return type packages. Be sure to check the diff_efileAttachments.xsd and the efileAttachments.xsd schema for each form family to make sure you have the latest versions that will be used in ATS starting November 2, 2009. These changes impact the Tax Year 2007 and 2008 manifests and acknowledgements. The acknowledgement file in these schema packages include a choice of "Filing Status" or "Acceptance Status", and a choice of "EIN" or "TIN" depending on the Tax Year. The IRS is in the process of requesting that the choice be removed to reflect only "Acceptance Status" and "TIN" for all acknowledgments regardless of form family. Once that change is scheduled to be deployed, we will provide an update. Back to Top Thank you for subscribing to Quick Alerts for Tax Professionals, an IRS e-mail service.
