THE ADWORD INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL OFFERS ASSISTANCE WITH: 1. English language training 2. Invitation letters for students coming from abroad to our language school 3. Accommodation • Homestay • Flats – Single or Double Other alternatives can be explored at the students’ discretion. 4. Applications for existing language school students to the University of the Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein for further study 5. Applications for existing language school students’ visa extensions Points 4 & 5 will only be done for students that have been accepted at AdWord International Language School and who already meet the list of requirements for university (UFS) application or have a valid tourist/other visa. The following applies to both services: - 50% of decided fee to be paid in advance - 50% to be paid on successful completion of application Please note that we will do our best to assist potential students with these endeavours, but cannot accept responsibility for the outcomes of applications for further study / visa extensions. That will solely depend on the approval of the relevant authorities. ENROLLING • Applications must reach our office at the latest 4 weeks before specified starting dates per term (which will be early in January, April, July, and October respectively), to qualify for enrollment. • Should you wish to study at the University of the Free State (UFS), your application must be in by September 2007 to enroll by January 2008 and by March 2008 to enroll by July 2008; this should be kept in mind if you wish to study with us before starting at UFS. • A Placement Test must be completed to allocate students to the relevant Level (1-6), in which they will begin with classes. • A $40 Registration Fee is payable before commencing with the Placement Test. DISCIPLINARY MEASURES • Students’ misconduct or contravention against the rules/requirements (concerning study and accommodation) of AdWord International Language School or South African national laws, while in association with the language school, can result in their repatriation at their own expense, if the offence calls for it. TRAVEL • Tours through the Free State/South Africa can be arranged through local travel agents on request and costs will vary according to specified tour. • Local tours/excursions are offered at no extra expense (included in class fees) to some of the more prominent tourist destinations, including: - National, Provincial and Local Government Buildings - Historical Buildings - Historical Locations - Museums - Major Malls and Shopping Centres - Arts and Culture Venues - Art, Craft and Farm Markets - Major Sports Facilities - Surrounding Areas in the Mangaung Municipality - Surrounding Nature Reserves and Parks - Other Places of Interest, Recreation and Resorts These trips will many times be included in the class setup, creating opportunity to practice learned language and increase vocabulary in a practical setting.
