    1. What is the difference between the lecture and species- specific training?

    RCULA comprises of 2 portions:

    a. Mandatory lecture that covers regulations, policies and the responsibility in using animals
       for scientific purposes.

    b. Species- specific training (Mice, Rats, Aseptic Surgery, Pig, Rabbit, and Guinea Pig) will
       include techniques and content that are specific to the species.

    2. How do I apply for the course?

          Please complete the registration form and email it to rcula@nus.edu.sg.


    3. I am a NUHS staff/student, can I register for the course?

          Yes, you can register for the course.

    5. Course Fees

RCULA

                                   For NUS staff and students    For non-NUS staff and students

          RCULA Lecture                     S$50.00                        S$80 plus GST

          Each species specific     S$50 (includes re-training             S$80 plus GST
          session                           sessions)



Example: If a participant wanted training only in mice, he/she would pay S$50 for lecture plus
S$50 for mice session. The charge for species specific sessions includes costs for re-training
should a researcher request or require that. After attending species specific training on mice, if
researchers need to use rabbits in future, they are required to attend the next course on species
specific training on rabbits. A separate charge of S$50 is applicable.

6. What is the mode of payment?

   Please send your enquiries to rcula@nus.edu.sg .

7. I am a NUHS staff/student, will I be charged NUS or Non-NUS rate?

   Staff/ Student holding a NUS staff/student card will be eligible for the NUS rate.

8. What is the pre-requisite to attend the course?

   Participants must be vaccinated against tetanus before coming for the hands-on practical
   sessions.

9. How do I get certified?

   Certificate will be issued to the participant upon full participation of RCULA Lecture
   and/or chosen hands on sessions.

10. When can I expect to receive the certificate?

   It will take about 6-8 working days for us to issue the certificates and forward it to your
   department. For non-NUS participants, it will take another 1-2 days to post the
   certificates.
