         MISSION STATEMENT
 As a project of and benefit for the St. Croix Foundation,
  the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience is specifically
 designed to support the important work of the St. Croix
  Foundation in the areas of community and economic
development, public education reform, and public safety.




  Our 2013 theme of “Food, Farm, Philanthropy” aims
  to increase awareness of the culinary delights found
  throughout the Caribbean and the US Virgin Islands.

        We will also showcase our local farmers
  and celebrate the diversity that the US Virgin Islands
            offers through our event series.

   Team up with the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience

An Overview of the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience
In 2001, two local restaurateurs, Kelly Odom and Katherine Pugliese, started
A Taste of St. Croix to celebrate and showcase the diverse cuisine on St. Croix in
the US Virgin Islands. They were pleasantly surprised when the event attracted
the attention of our entire community, and the two founders soon went on to
invest the proceeds into worthwhile and successful community initiatives through
the St. Croix Foundation.

As A Taste of St. Croix grew, so too did the number of events and supporters.
Twelve years later, the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience is now a week-long event
series that attracts more than 2500 guests, including travel writers, vintners,
chefs, and foodies who all join in the festivities. As an anchor to the week of events,
A Taste of St. Croix continues to draw almost 2000 participants and revelers for
its island-wide culinary competition and fete that boasts more than 55 restaurants
and fabulous wines from over 20 vineyards. The original founders of A Taste of
St. Croix are also hosts of the highly acclaimed Gourmet Vintner Dinner and the
dynamic and spontaneously fun Food Fight, which pits top chefs from around the
world in a competition that is as challenging as it is creative. The St. Croix Food &
Wine Experience now consists of 11 events including: The Sunset BBQ, Galleon
Wine Dinner, Kids Cooking Classes, Cork & Fork Dinners, Wine in the Warehouse,
and Cuisine on the Green. For more information on 2013 event line up, please see

About the St. Croix Foundation
St. Croix Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves the entire
US Virgin Islands in the areas of education, historic preservation, community and
economic development, public safety, and fiscal sponsorship of smaller
nonprofits. For over 20 years, the Foundation has been committed to identifying
emerging needs in the community and forging innovative solutions while leveraging
scarce resources. Nationally recognized by the US Small Business Administration,
the Council on Foundations, the National School Boards Association, and the
International Downtown Association for our comprehensive community
development work, St. Croix Foundation directs all proceeds from the St. Croix

A Taste of St. Croix - You’ll start your evening in the VIP area,
which means you’ll be the first to enter this sell-out event. Held at
Divi Carina Bay Resort, you will join almost 2000 participants and
guests that sample the expertise of 55 restaurants, chefs, farms,
and caterers. Visiting celebrity chefs, winemakers, rum distilleries,
and breweries also offer samples of their best creations. As the
only island-wide culinary competition of its kind, Taste also offers a
thread of excitement throughout the night as restaurants are judged
by renowned chefs and await the final results.
