Mediators must also be aware of the assumptions that might affect their practice, and in particular the language that they use during the mediation. This workshop focuses on awareness-raising and skills development. Some of the topics covered include: • Stereotypes and assumptions; • Sex, gender and sexuality; • Concepts of family; • Appropriate language; • Children; • Coming out; • Health and legal issues; • Violence.
