The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) has received financing from the Inter-American
Development Bank (IDB), and intends to apply part of the proceeds to consulting services
under the project Natural Hazard Management in Urban Coastal Areas to conduct detail risk
assessment and the development of risk management plans for three (3) major coastal
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) now invites
eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms
must provide information establishing that they are qualified to perform the services
(brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability
of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Firms may associate to enhance their qualifications.
1. The firm must have at least 5 years experience dealing with Natural Coastal Hazards
and Risk Assessment and the preparation of Risk Management Plans.
2. Local firms must present evidence of Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) and
Registration with the National Contracts Commission (NCC).
3. International firms if awarded contract will be required to obtain TCC and NCC
Firms will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Inter-American
Development Bank: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by
the Inter-American Development Bank (current edition) and is open to all eligible bidders as
defined in the policies.
