3. Motion by Jackie Cote to accept the minutes of the September 12
Executive Committee meeting, second by Paul Baird. Vote unanimously in
the affirmative. Motion carried.

4. Before voting to accept the Treasurer’s Report, Jackie Cote discussed the
consolidation of several columns on the main checking account spreadsheet
to allow for larger print and better readability. She also stated that stipend
payments were made to Jayna Hooper and Jim Chrimes from donated,
targeted funds and thus approval from the membership was not necessary
even though the amounts paid were each over $200 maximum. Motion by
Priscilla Hagebusch to accept the September Treasurer’s Report, seconded
By Rita James. Vote unanimously in the affirmative. Motion carried.

5. Old Business
      A. Cathryn reported that the “Tribute to Babe Sargent” event on
September 17 was a huge success with an even $5,000 in ticket
sales. The NOST organization has been given a check for
$1,000. NHS will also receive a check for $750 from profits.
      B. Cathryn reported that the NHS parade participation included a
pony pulling a cart with Jayna and her two children. Jackie
Cote and Jerry Hagebush carried the NHS sign, Cathryn and
Paul led the pony and Bill Yeaton followed with the book
sign. All were dressed in colonial attire. We got wet but had
              great fun.
      C. Cathryn reported that the “Chamber After Hours” was truly a
“colonial open house” as the entire town was without
electricity. The Grand Opening of the museum on Wednesday
was very successful with well over 100 people attending both
nights. Feedback from the public has been very positive.
      D. Jackie reported on the results to-date of the membership drive.
As of October 17, renewing/new members currently stand at
              127. Of this number, 52 are new members with 99 who have
not yet renewed. The results are very encouraging with the
Drive only three weeks old. The goal of 250 members by year
end seems attainable if prior members continue to renew their
              membership.
      E. Jackie reported that the results of the phone/email vote needed to
order the granite wall toppers from Sunapee Graniteworks was
not available and would be included in the minutes.
[21 Active members were emailed or called with details of the proposed
purchase. 16 responded with a yes vote. 5 did not respond. Vote was in the
affirmative.]

archival materials to include 200 acid free folders, 24 three
ring 3” binders and acid free tissue to conserve clothing, total

      E. Cathryn mentioned that NHS was now able to sell Helen Stamos
new book “Greeks of Newport NH”. She also reminded
