outside India as well. The city has also the beautiful Jhelum river, and gardens and lakes. The
various tourist attractions in Srinagar are the Shankaracharya temple, Jama Masjid, Dal and

Dal Lake:

Dal Lake spread over an area of 26 sq. km and is known as 'Srinagar's jewel'. Dal lake remains
crowded throughout the year and is popular for its houseboats and shikaras. Dal Lake is well
famous for enjoying swimming, houseboats, angling and for water surfing. Dal Lake lies
immediately to the east and north of Srinagar and stretches over 5-km. The lake is divided into
Gagribal, Lokut Dal and Bod Dal by a series of causeways. Dal lake is one of the popular tourist
