“Don't worry about what you need. Don't worry about what you want.

You don't have a job; you have a purpose. The way to achieve is to stop fretting about
Start loving the opportunity the moment holds. Success is not something you strive for

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. --Mahatma Gandhi Gandhi
Smile at life
No matter what else you have or do not have, you have the beautiful experience of life. No
matter what may have happened before, or what might come next, you have this moment.
Now is when you can make it count. Now is when you are connected with unbounded
opportunities to make a positive difference.
Don't waste your time complaining about what you lack or worrying about what you might
lose. Invest the best of what you have in this moment to create new value.
If you choose to be annoyed or resentful, you'll only drag yourself down. Instead,
challenge yourself to be more positive and effective than you've ever been, right now.
Smile at life, even when life has not smiled at you first. Be the first one to initiate
goodness, and you'll be the first one to benefit from that goodness.
You are here, and there is nothing to fear. Count your blessings, and before you're

Most college students learn very quickly the value of their time when they’re struggling to
balance work, school and a social life. With so much to do it can be easy to become
overwhelmed, stressed and eventually burnt out. Students can help themselves stay sane
and still get everything done by developing good time management skills early on. These
skills will not only be valuable during their time at school but can carry over later into the
workplace. Here are some great ways for students to make the most of their time, stay
productive and still have fun.
In this latest in the One Minute Manager series, the authors chastise executives who
never have time for family or their own job enhancement because they accept too many
responsibilities--"monkeys" clinging to their backs--that properly belong to their staffs.
Based on seminars conducted by the late Oncken, the book explains in simple-minded if
abstract terms how to achieve a balance between supervision and delegation for reduced
tension and improved productivity. "There is a high correlation between self-reliance and
morale," stress the authors. With humor and logic they describe the delicate business of
assigning monkeys to the right masters and keeping them healthy, i.e., fed and cared for:
" . . . if monkeys are managed properly, you don't have to manage people so much."
Unequivocal assignments, proper coaching and interim check-ups, according to this
program, can lead to effective delegation and, with it, a better life at home and office.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change was a
groundbreaker when it was first published in 1990, and it continues to be a business
bestseller with more than 10 million copies sold. Stephen Covey, an internationally
respected leadership authority, realizes that true success encompasses a balance of
personal and professional effectiveness, so this book is a manual for performing better in
both arenas. His anecdotes are as frequently from family situations as from business
We think This is one of the best time management books because you can use as much
or as little as you like AND all of the ideas and tips can help you save time. The book is
well organized into sections and it starts with a great short chapter title "I don't have time
to read this book!" The best idea we got from this book was about how our personal style
impacts on our time. The key concepts covered are:
Your Relationship with Time, Do the right things, Take Command and Other People and
This book and system has massive following. The subtle effectiveness of GTD lies in its
common sense notion that a complete and current inventory of all your commitments ,
organized and reviewed in a systematic way allows you focus on what needs to be done
at any given time. The step-by-step method includes, Capturing anything and everything
that has your attention: Defining actionable things into outcomes and concrete next steps;
Organizing reminders and information in categories; Keeping current with frequent reviews
of the six horizons (purpose, vision, goals, areas of focus, projects, and actions)
Time Power covers topics such as Mastering Time through Goals, Establishing proper
priorities, overcoming the six biggest time wasters and overcoming procrastination. You
will have heard these ideas before, and Time Power puts them together like an instruction
manual. It's easy to find what you want and easy to refer back. The approach is based on
having a lot of self-discipline (all people who spend time well have self-discipline, but
Tracy places very high importance on this ability).
Execution is "the missing link between aspirations and results," and as such, making it
happen is the business leader's most important job. While failure in today's business
environment is often attributed to other causes, Bossidy and Charan argue that the
biggest obstacle to success is the absence of execution. They point out that without
execution, breakthrough thinking on managing change breaks down, and they emphasize
the fact that execution is a discipline to learn, not merely the tactical side of business.
Supporting this with stories of the "execution difference" being won (EDS) and lost (Xerox
and Lucent), the authors describe the building blocks--leaders with the right behaviors, a
culture that rewards execution, and a reliable system for having the right people in the
right jobs--that need to be in place to manage the three core business processes of
people, strategy, and operations. Both Bossidy, CEO of Honeywell International, Inc., and
Charan, advisor to corporate executives and author of such books as What the CEO
Wants You to Know and Boards That Work, present experience-tested insight into how
the smooth linking of these three processes can differentiate one company from the rest.
This book is a great practical hands-on book for improving your time-management. It
starts by checking on you motivation for wanting to do stuff. The two great ideas we like in
this book are the WADE formula and the concept of time mapping. We use both of these
as part of our coaching toolkit. W = write it down. A = add it up (how long will it take). D =
decide (to do or no to do). E = execute.

Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make
use of. One man gets only a week’s value out of a year while another man gets a full
year’s value out of a week.
Ordinary people think merely of spending time. Great people think of using it.
Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time
who never loses any. It is wonderful how much can be done if we are always doing. -

This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
A man who dares to waste one hour of life has not discovered the value of life.
Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.
Once you have mastered time, you will understand how true it is that most people
overestimate what they can accomplish in a year – and underestimate what they can
achieve in a decade!
It’s not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?
Henry David Thoreau
Take care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves.
You’re writing the story of your life one moment at a time.

To do two things at once is to do neither.
One cannot manage too many affairs: like pumpkins in the water, one pops up while you
try to hold down the other.
Never let yesterday use up today.
Richard H. Nelson
It’s how we spend our time here and now, that really matters. If you are fed up with the
way you have come to interact with time, change it.
Realize that now, in this moment of time, you are creating. You are creating your next
moment. That is what’s real.
The time for action is now. It’s never too late to do something.

traits, and positive institutions. Understanding positive emotions entails the study of
contentment with the past, happiness in the present, and hope for the future.
Understanding positive individual traits consists of the study of the strengths and virtues,
such as the capacity for love and work, courage, compassion, resilience, creativity,
curiosity, integrity, self-knowledge, moderation, self-control, and wisdom. Understanding
positive institutions entails the study of the strengths that foster better communities, such
as justice, responsibility, civility, parenting, nurturance, work ethic, leadership, teamwork,
purpose, and tolerance

Qualitative research on an adult individual (B.I.) who suffered from a severe undiagnosed
learning disability—Amnesic-Semantic Aphasia. This research project centers on the life
of the 39 year old B.I., who has led his life struggling with a learning disability, which
caused him to drop out of school before completing 9th grade. Several tests are run to

This article outlines the diagnosis and the treatment of learning disabilities through a
holistic NeuroDevelopmental approach. The article gives a brief historical background of
the various learning disability therapies and their successes and their failures. Due to
recent neurological and technological research we have become privy to the hidden
intricacies of the human brain. Given these advances, it became apparent that while
disproving many of the previous theories and therapies, that some theories had, without
the neurological, technological insight we have now, indeed been accurate and effective.
A discovery in this research was how “the brain’s proven plasticity meant that through
movement it could become possible to restructure the brain.” This is to say that it is the
body that organizes the brain and not the other way around. Fascinating research aimed
at educating educators who are educating LD students. Kokot, Shirley.
A humorful and heartbreaking look into the world of the student with Learning Disabilities
in the modern American public school classroom. Richard Lavoie leads a group of
teachers, special educators, parents and other field experts through a workshop
simulating the classroom experience of the student with learning disabilities. Through
exercises, group activities and classroom dramatic reenactments the group experiences
the frustration, anxiety and tension that the learning disabled student goes through
everyday. Using layman terms and a quick sense of humor, Richard Lavoie illustrates
many of the thought processes of the Learning Disabled student in the classroom, many
of the obstacles of teaching a Learning disabled child, and some important strategies on
how to best live and succeed with a learning disability. In the end, everyone involved
comes away with a better perspective on the experience of a Learning Disabled Student. Richard Lavoie

Who is the learning-disabled child? As theories multiply and research accumulates, this
pressing question persists, leaving parents and educators and, particularly, students at a
loss. "The Learning-Disabled Child" aims to provide an answer. A broad-based account of
what is currently known and done about learning disabilities, the book gets at the roots of
this perplexing problem - and offers a new outlook for its treatment. Since the 1970s,
millions of children have been misclassified by public schools as learning-disabled, while
many others with true learning disabilities go unidentified and unhelped, as case material
presented here makes poignantly clear. Drawing on her own background in cognitive,
developmental and abnormal psychology, as well as her research into reading and
dyslexia, Sylvia Farnham-Diggory seeks to cut through the confusion surrounding learning
disabilities. She outlines a straightforward assessment procedure that reduces the
misclassification of learning-disabled children. Prescriptive as well as descriptive, "The
Learning-Disabled Child" offers advice to parents seeking the best methods of diagnostic Sylvia Farnham-
evaluation, and to teachers in search of the most effective means of helping these Diggory

Let's call it emotional mugging: You're going along minding your own business, and
suddenly, when you least expect it, you're faced with a shocking attack on your mood or
peace of mind. Being emotionally mugged can be crippling, but because the damage is so
often invisible, few of us are ever taught self-defense. Time to change that. You're
probably aware that the Asian martial arts, with their deft approach to handling attack, are
popular practices for warding off physical muggers. Well, karate-do ("the way of the empty
hand") and bushi-do ("the way of the warrior") have a psychological equivalent I call emo-
do (pronounced "ee-moh-doh"): the way of the emotional master. Martha Beck
